Transgender met police officer accused of rape

couldn’t see this elsewhere so apologies if it’s already been posted. Awful case. The decision to refer to the defendant as male feels interesting though - a step in from what we’ve seen

I couldn't believe my ears , I had to rewind and listen to it twice. I wonder whether a fellow mumsnetters badgering of the BBC is paying off.

He will probably be thought of as not being a ‘real’ transwoman though.

Fucking hell! But at least the reporting is clear. How mad is this world that we are in a position where it seems necessary to give thanks for that?!

Mr Milne told the court the defendant and the alleged victims would be referred to by their biological sex throughout the trial when discussing the allegations.

Can you make out why the alleged victims would be referred to by their biological sex, as we do not I read that the alleged victim, little girl was transgender?
