You’d think they could at least avoid being grossly misleading even if not fully accurate by using a neutral word in the headline such as ‘spouse’.

At least it's in the body of the article so that is a slight improvement to previous articles. Their misuse of headlines is extremely frustrating though.

But the way it is mentioned means readers may still not understand that Joanna is a man, that this is a man committing a vicious assault. They may think that Joanna is a woman who identifies as a man, and that the BBC in its commitment to truth and accuracy is acting according to the SC judgement that a person who identifies as transgender does not change sex.

It’s bad enough in itself, but they’re also simultaneously trolling us with their ridiculously OTT wanging on about their passion for accuracy and noble truth-seeking. With cringe-making idents with Clive Myrie staring into the camera and intoning “the fight for truth is ON”. (And I love Clive but really.)

Truth eh BBC? You might want to have that looked at.

Journalists these days seem to have 2 rules -
Don't report the facts, and
Go every which way around the subject before telling us what your article is about!

I’ve just submitted a complaint to the BBC about their inability to report facts & their ideological capture. No doubt any reply will just be the generic waffle.

The husband had been a TIM as well, they had a same sex Union , though they would both have been ‘wives’. The husband had desisted , though, which perhaps was part of their disagreement .

I submitted a complaint about it being misinformation. I’m not expecting a response i’ll be happy about - but on what grounds could they possibly say the article is factual?

I would quite like to know how the BBC reconcile their misleading ideologically driven reporting of cases like that, with their reporting of the MI5 case where they stated:

"In reality, journalists like me are here to scrutinise and challenge the organisation."

Where is the scrutiny and challenge when they're falsely presenting male violence as having been perpetrated by women? If they have the courage and integrity to scrutinise and challenge MI5, you would think they could accurately report male violence.
