I'd agree with your take, it a very good summery of the situation, the intentions may have been good but they've just made things far, far worse. It goes way beyond telling white lies to comfort distressed people, the brainwashing that's behind all of the ideologies that have post-modernism at there root, is off the charts.

Until recently the number of people unable to tolerate the reality that sex can not be changed was vanishingly small, and they preferred to remain hidden. They either completed suicide or retreated into fantasy, often leading to extreme measures like self-castration.
Psychiatrists who treated these patients had no doubt they were affected by severe mental illness. They only started considering physical treatment alternatives like hormones and surgery after psychotherapy failed to help.

Nailed it. It's good to see such an article coming from Australia, I know the women's right's group down under are having to push bush back up a majorly steep hill, I'm sure this an article will, from such a qualified person, help them in their fight.

This is what we've all been saying for years....males with sexual fetishes needed children to validate their 'trans' identity. When we all know they are just male transexuals.

This is just so sad-so many families torn apart by this ideology, so many young bodies harmed and so many young people now life long medical patients.

I suggested on a different thread that some of the batshit comments we see on Mumsnet are from transactivist adults who are unable to separate reality from fantasy. They get a lot of attention from women on here with their provocative posts but actually it's extremely sad as many posts suggest they're unable to function appropriately in the adult world.

I've been saying this for more than a decade it's going to rival eugenics in the abhorrence it will create among future generations.

There is no doubt in my mind that this will be looked back on as a major medical scandal.
