What do whips, spandex and dog masks have to do with Pride?

They're kinks/fetishes right? Not related to sexual orientation. Also why are they anything to be 'proud' of? Your closest friends would probably find it pretty odd (and stomach turning!) if you told them your OH likes to wear your undies, or what gets you off is him licking your feet... Why is proclaiming what should be personal and private turn-ons to the general public any better? Why should they be glad for you in any way for being so open about it?

A fairly typical profile seems to that of a tech guy - software engineer who has always been seen as a bit of a nerd; they play warhammer and other fantasy games - both on-line but also in real life. They are into Manga and cos play, attending conventions such as 'Comic Con' and they like to read sci-fi -fantasy books and magazines; hang out at 'Forbidden Planet' and watch 'Only Connect'.The world they inhabit is very masculine where female gamers are something of an exotic breed. A good proportion may well be on the autistic spectrum.

There is an undisguised public profile in which she appears to participate.

Interesting……

I was wondering this too. If so, I hope she’s reading this thread.

Or she is yet another trans widow coerced into meeting the needs of her husband’s porny fetish.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you, my brother’s partner was actually very close to my daughter in particular and she felt his loss keenly. DBro has really only just got his life back on track, when I saw him recently he seemed to be moving on in a positive way.

ArabellaScott · 07/07/2025 08:40

Well, you know, it makes him happy, and many women know it's best to keep their men happy. At all costs.

The utterly depressing thing is that the mother of Aida's children goes along with this shit. Fucking hell woman.

My younger brother - gay, in his late sixties - had a miserable early youth concealing his sexual orientation, went through the horrors of seeing friends die from AIDS in the 1980s/90s and eventually lived for many years a normal, happy and stable life with his long term partner until his partner, sadly, died recently. He has watched with increasing dismay the takeover of the LGB by the T pushed by, among others, Stonewall, and the general queering of the movement that made it possible for him to be respected, accepted and happy. Increasingly, gay is becoming associated with kink, sexual exploitation and even criminality. It distresses him greatly.

I'm sorry for your loss.

AidaP · 05/07/2025 21:13

Why is it one or the other?

My kids are with me and my wife at many prides, kink is involved, it's never a problem. Just like topic of sex is never a problem in our house, neither is the topic of kink sex. If they are old enough to ask, they are old enough to get an answer, as detailed as they are willing to keep asking.

Whereas many parents think that by creating some sheltered existence their kids won't find about it, completely ignoring that if you turn on prime time tv you will see the same, and more, than you will on pride. Or if you google, really, anything.

'Age appropriate' is a term with meaning. The sort of information and exposure you subject your children to will simply confuse them, especially when they find that back in the real world, at school, in friend's homes ( outside of a home absorbed in 'alternative realities' and fantasies of one sort or other) that their newly found 'knowledege' will not find the same sort of reception. They will simply not understand where the boundaries of what is acceptable or appropriate sit. You have burdened them with 'knowledge' that they are not mature enough to handle.

People who are absorbed in the gaming community, Warhammer, Cos play conventions - already inhabit a fantasy virtual reality. Maybe they met through this scene?

There is no "consent for looking", same as no one has to consent to read this opinion you posted here, despite being wrong and filled with some hate seeping through.

You like freedom of expression to hate and pearl clutch, others use it to be themselves.

And yes, there are many straight and mono people at pride purely for the kink part of it. It's part of the Q - queer. LGTBQIA+ is the full alphabet if you are curious, intersex and asexual/armoantic for the last 2. And plus in case something was missed out.

That also was part of pride since the very beginning at stonewall.

Bullshit.

Gay Pride, and then Lesbian & Gay Pride, AVOIDED overt sexual references and kink. The purpose of the marches was to win over the general public, not confirm their worst fears about homosexuals!

What do whips, spandex and dog masks have to do with Pride?

Does anyone remember that theatre company that did The Family Sex Show, aimed at children as young as five and where there was all manner of inappropriate sexual content in the name of being “liberal”, “progressive” and “sexually liberated”?

I’m getting a strong reminder of that crap from some of the content on this thread. More child safe-guarding red flags than I know what to do with.

Yes, and it was the exact same arguments that came up to any objections. “Prudes”, “pearl clutchers” etc.

And equally, the organisers couldn’t see anything wrong with it, just like Pride. They seemed genuinely baffled that adults getting their dicks out on stage for children wasn’t accepted with open arms as a concept.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/07/2025 23:13

Yes, I remember them.

If he can pretend to be a woman, he can pretend to have a wife and kids. Nothing to see here, I think.

Blokes like ‘Aida’ are ten a penny, especially on Twitter. Men for whom the air of scolding women is a turn on. They’re not interested in facts or debate, it’s all just grist for their dodgy mills.

Inadequate men who get a kick out of making provocative statements which women will quite rightly challenge. I find it hilarious that these men think they are ‘living as a woman.’ Their maleness is visible from space in everything they say and do.

💯

Pride was originally about love, not sex

LGB Pride was originally about love and acceptance and the campaign for rights that didn’t impinge on any other sector of society.

Now, it’s just a vehicle for the TQIA+ blue haired, unwashed fetishists who want to normalise sexual kinks to children.

All the bondage gear, furry play and men pretending to be ladies has completely taken over. And don’t even get me started on the love is love is love and the underlying implications there.

Pride needs to stop now and the LGB community have to realise that they’re going to be caught up in the backlash that’s surely coming and pull away from it or a lot of acceptance that’s been gained over the years is going to be rolled back.

You can only push boundaries so far.

JanesLittleGirl · 06/07/2025 22:47

Having read @AidaPs posts on this thread, I have come to the conclusion that if he is posting honestly then he is one sick puppy and he is actively abusing his children. He needs a visit from Social Services wherever he actually lives.

I believe that has been admitted. Maybe not on this thread but this is confirmed.

Yes, another male poster.

Why should people be ashamed of being into leathers?

You seriously implying, if not flat out saying, that people should be ashamed of who they are is exactly why those are part of PRIDE too, as that's at the core is what's it about - accepting and loving people of all makes, besides haters.

Such a pathetic stance. I don’t care what kinks people are into in their private sex lives. But that’s where it should stay. PRIVATE. To flaunt it about is just grim. Why does it matter whether anyone other than their partner(s) accepts it? Smacks of desperation and massive insecurity

Annoyedone · 06/07/2025 21:27

Helleofabore · 06/07/2025 17:14

I reckon there is a good chance that your children are home schooled. Would I be right in that assumption?

Are we supposed to be upset or offended by being called ‘pearl clutchers’? I’d rather be a pearl clutcher than a lot of things.
