TransLucent have submitted a formal complaint to NHRIs that EHRC is is failing to adhere to the Paris Principles

When are they going to get through their thick heads, they don't need to be consulted, it's a guidance on a judgement from the highest court in the land about the meaning of an existing law.

There was a consultation about whether the guidance was clear enough, but that's all. They could have put the tuppence worth in on that but 'trans' people don't need to be consulted.

Wilful ignorance in most cases

Well yes, they have a settled view, because the Supreme Court judgment is settled law. Following it isn't optional. The only purpose of the EHRC guidance is to put it in layman's terms.

The EHCR arent randomly making stuff up, they are writing guidance based on the Supreme Courts judgement. I'm agog at how many people miss this point.

I can't help but think the people at TransLucent are a bit stupid.

They could write to the king the Dali Lama, and the Pope (probably have)

will make not an ounce of difference.

The only route they have is through the UK courts to get to an application to the ECHR.

But that would be a long haul and unlikely to succeed.

Do they think the ruling might change at the end of the consultation?

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of what the EHRC does.

the UK is a sovereign state, these bodies tjey keep whingeing too have no control over our laws

as akways I’m utterly amazed that such hard of thinking ppl have been listened too and kow towed too for so long by ppl who should fecking well know better

Will it matter? The EHRC has to implement the law of this country, not the law as TransLucent would like it to be.

The UK is a sovereign country. The EHRC must follow the laws enacted by our democratically elected and sovereign parliament, not a bunch of unelected grifters in foreign countries who aren't democratically accountable to anyone.
