Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

How do you tell a gay man from a paedophile. You don't - but that does not mean gay men are paedophiles.

When applying safeguards to protect children from paedophiles we apply them equally to all men whether they are gay or straight because some gay.men are paedophiles.

When applying safeguards so protect women against male sexual violence we should apply those safeguards to all men equally whether they identify as men or not because some men who identify as women are rapists

You do realise it’s not just about toilets? It’s prisons, women’s refuge shelters, changing Rooms, hospital wards, men taking women’s places in sport and many other things.

Also the “loophole” sexual predators use to be in women’s spaces by claiming to be a woman also.

Why are you blaming JK Rowling? Other women speak up about this as well.

If my child was saying they were trans I would be very concerned indeed. Its a cult. Id be 100% focusing on how to help them shift their mindset, be happy in the skin they are in. No child, no adult is born in the wrong body.

And yes, I know female paedophiles are rare. But they do exist.

Incidently, I've knowingly met 4 paedophiles in my life. All were straight men. One was a father.

Why are you bringing gay men into this discussion?
Tell me: how do I (or more importantly for me my daughter) tell if a man who is coming into a female only space is a transwoman or a predatory man or both?

I’ve never been remotely interested in penises and I don’t want to share changing rooms or toilets with them. Whether their owners are there in good faith or not - and there is no way to filter out the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ones. Except that the ‘good’ ones will respect women’s sex-based rights & use male or unisex spaces instead.

You talk so fondly about your husbands' penises yet if a trans woman has one, it's the enemy.

In my view, anyone exposing their penis to someone of the opposite sex whether it is in the street or in the changing room, it is indecent exposure and should be treated as a sexual crime.

if any man who says 'actually I'm a laydee' is allowed in the ladies loos and can't be challenged, then all men are allowed in the ladies loos and can't be challenged, because any man can say 'actually I'm a laydee'

think of not letting men who declare themselves to be women into the ladies lavs as being like locking your front door. it doesn't stop burglars, but it makes their lives harder
