Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

The difference, @Manfreglory, is that my husband is not going to go into the Ladies’ changing rooms at the municipal swimming pool, and get his penis out in front of all the women and girls in there. Nor is he calling people bigots for saying that there is no ‘right’ for a male individual to get his penis out in front of little girls.

Women and girls deserve their single sex spaces. I don’t believe this is an extremist point of view - but there are people on your side of the debate who think I deserve to be raped, beaten up or burnt to death in a grease fire for saying that trans women are NOT female and do NOT have the right to push their way into women’s and girls’ single sex spaces, sports, changing rooms, awards etc.

I think the special identity is supposed to make it inherently safer. We can't see that, we just have to take it on faith.

I'm confident about this, because the rhetorical style is similar to those internet hucksters who promise men one weird trick that will make their johnson bigger.
