Dd wants to start hormones

Please can anyone point me in the direction of any reading or any valid points to put her off this?

She is at uni and she is autistic. Seems quite happy generally and we had a chat several years ago about waiting until 25 to do anything

Whatever you do, just please please make sure they don't feel rejected, give them a squeeze and tell them that, whatever happens, you'll be there.

Well what does she want to achieve with the hormones?

She might not be able to have children, does she want children?

Does she want to go on to have surgery? If so she puts herself at risk of developing osteoporosis.

Her brain is still developing.

If she has any mental health issues (including gender dysphoria) then hormones may not make her feel any better about her body.

Counselling and talking therapies can help a person to live with dysphoria and doesn't cause any permeant physical changes so why not start with that?

For example the last link is about a very good book. Rapid onset gender dysphoria is absolutely real but the Wikipedia page for the book claims it is not.
