Wow. Have you seen all the Pride and Trans flags flying in the audiences at Glastonbury?

In my local leisure centre there are fairly regular problems with men taking photos of children getting changed/in the showers, and of men trying to film or spy on women and children in the cubicles.

This likely happens at yours too, but you are so busy patting yourself on the back for being The Best Person you’ve not noticed the regular warnings going out to to use your phone in the changing room or telling parents to watch out for “people” (and thanks for that obscuring language you’ve foisted on us) lurking around the showers.

So thanks for your tolerance of that while preening over how “kind” you are. We all see you.

Yes I wouldnt want to get changed around men either. Particularly strange ones as you call them. But I'm like that with non trans women so I use lockable cubicles.

Well currently there are centres that help both men and women under the one roof. Anyone in there needs help. Dont know why the transgender issue would change that.

Yes if you think that all transgender women are rapists or paedohphiles then I can imagine you would be scared for her. And yes a row of toilets at night time when your alone with two men entering could potentially be alarming depending on the men. But we do have separate male and female toilets and I can't see that changing. If two men want to walk into female toilets at night time there is nothing stopping them.

They can set up their own specific crisis centres. Like women had to.

Now imagine a corridor of such cubicles in the night time economy.....and a young woman goes in there and finds she's alone.....and then a couple of men enter. You do know that such spaces are where women can be very vulnerable.

Unisex facilities need to be single rooms ( not just cubicles) with integral basins - not a communal facility with a shared acess area. I want to be able to send my granddaughter into the toilets when out in public, without having to be concerned about who might be in there with her.

Surely you understand this?

Transwomen are male, though, every single one of them - by definition.

I'm not generally scared of men, either.....but I don't want to get changed around strange men, nor do I want to find them in female only facilities, and i don't want for my daughter or grandaughter to have to be compromised in that way, either.

Good, decent men stay out of women's private spaces; it is the ones who keep pushing and insisting in spite of being told " No"...that are the problem.

Thinking about it, I'd much rather be led by a donkey than led by a lion. If you were led by a lion you'd be standing around for 23 hours and 45 minutes of the day while she had a good sleep, followed by a rather hairy and gory 15 minutes of holding on for dear life as she chased down a zebra (or, in a UK context, possibly your neighbour's Labrador). Donkeys are quite steady and patient and probably pretty decent at following trails and things. They'd also give you a lift when you got knackered.

While Eagle could be an AI bot, on reading their more recent posts, I can't help but wonder if we are being treated to a display of be kind I'm all right Jack (and therefore, I am going to dismiss everything you say as irrelevant).

I mean that in the same way I say I'm not scared of men. I'll be scared in certain situations but I'm not scared of a gender of people.

Yes I would expect a lockable toilet cubical, a lockable changing room cubical, privacy when naked under any situation other than a nudist beach. And for me those apply around other women too. If I'm in hospital in a mixed sex ward it wouldnt be ideal but my ideal would be my own private room which is unlikely on NHS. We have mixed sex changing at our local pool and I've never heard anyone where I live talk about it negatively or wanting to start a campaign against it.

Have you met every trans-identified male?

It is common sense to have privacy for women and girls in situations of undress or physical vulnerability. In private spaces you can control who enters, but in public spaces you cannot. We have rules for entry in many such spaces - and they are usually predicated on common sense.

But what do you mean when you say you don't have sn issue?

You think people should be supported to express their personality or gender how they like? Cool, the vast majority on here would agree.

Or you think that men's 'gender identity' should trump their sex, allowing them to identify their way into women's sports, prisons, domestic violence shelters, board positions, etc.

Becayse really problematic for women, which should be self evident to you. That's not about scaremongering, it is affecting women now and has been for some time. That's what the TRA flags are supporting.

Well some women with histories of abuse may well feel scared of men in situations in which they are alone with them or where men are not expected to be. But for many of us it is more about the privacy and dignity of sex.

Well actually, in some cities women only transport has been trialled; certainly in the night time economy......and where I live there is a dedicated taxi service for gay men to get home safely.

You cannot possibly vet every single person you meet. We have rules and regulations about access and entry for all sorts of reasons, in many sorts of venues. This is basic safeguarding.

Having female only spaces is not to suggest that all men are predators, but that some are...and that female people have a right to privacy and dignity in certain types of situation in which the female body and/or biological function is central.

It is not about being "scared".

It's all about common sense and judgement on each individual point not always trying to find the worst case scenario. You could say what's next- same sex buses? For women's safety only women are allowed on certain buses and men on another?

So can transgender people not be raped? Why should they not be allowed access to crisis centres? Where do non transgender men currently go if they need support after rape?

I'm not supporting anything. I just dont have an issue with transgender. I dont fall for scaremongering.

How do you function out there in the real world? Do you run away every time a man is walking towards you on the pavement?
