The mother was there to give her away.

If this is exactly what it sounds like, then what the hell is going on?! And good on Disney for calling the police

I’m hoping it’s a publicity stunt though cos it sounds like it

You are either woefully ignorant or having some sort of very poor taste attempt at a joke. Many, many British men are sexually attracted to children, frequently break the law and do not care one bit about getting caught or “typical British culture”.

I assume it’s this statement you are referring to. It’s made by the French police so could easily be about Great Britain.
