BBC presenter corrects pregnant people to pregnant women

I couldn't tell if she did actually correct 'pregnant people' to pregnant women or if she was just reading out a list: the aged, 'pregnant people', women and those with medical conditions.

She may of course have been making the point in a deliberately deniable way, in case her bosses tried to pull her up on it.

Then again, the way she said "women" might have suggested that she was amending the script for common sense purposes.

Who knows?

She definitely did. The eye roll was definitely there. Plus women aren’t generally affected by heat anymore than men.

Yes she did deliberately correct it. Here is the original quote by Dr Mistry as referenced in the clip. He refers to pregnant people, she changes it to pregnant women

Dr Malcolm Mistry, at LSHTM, said: “Exposure to temperatures in the high 20s or low 30s may not seem dangerous, but they can be fatal, particularly for people aged over 65, infants, pregnant people, and those with pre-existing health conditions.”

No, it wasn't that. Even if all women had to be more careful than men (which is false), how would 'women' be acceptable if 'pregnant women' wasn't? Unless the presenter meant all people with womany self-identification.

I doubt it. Heat isn't really significantly more of an issue for non pregnant women than it is men
