Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

The socially-acceptable misogyny towards porn “stars”, such as Bonnie Blue

The Bonnie Blue/ Lily Philips discourse has highlighted that it’s still perfectly acceptable, even applauded, to refer to women as “sluts”, “whores” etc. It is also acceptable to witch hunt them for being “bad”, I.e. liking sex.

I’m no fan of these women or their industry, but I do still think we should be calling out the misogyny towards them, right?

These women think they can game the porn industry but most of them come to a bad end unless they get out early. Look at the case of Linda Lovelace and numerous others. She is setting herself up to perhaps being murdered by a psycho.

Anchorage56 · 22/09/2025 13:02

I have no sympathy for her, she chooses this simply for the money.

Handsomesoapdish · 22/09/2025 12:55

Lily and Bonnie are very different

Bonnie is to me- I'm no professional of course - is something of a sociopath. So I wonder how easily she can exploit this and create a huge amount of money and feel nothing but gratification in the receipt of money. Her reactions, her blink, everything about her says sociopathic. On a personal level she really doesn't seem to care at all about the misogyny. She perpetuates it with her comments about women not pleasing their husbands. But again - these men can choose not to buy into this. So it's on them again.

I absolutely agree with this. Sociopaths and psychopaths often do things that objectively seem to not serve themselves just to experience a degree of emotion that is beyond their normal limit.

Lily is just on a path of self harm for whatever reason she has.

The misogyny is awful. Their misogyny is awful. The harm they experience is awful. The harm they cause is awful.

Bonnie Blue was allegedly punched in the face at a nightclub last night. Sadly, the discourse surrounding it is mostly condoning it…

Just to add that she was punched by a woman.

GiraffesAtThePark · 19/09/2025 20:20

I think people assume you have to be damaged to do this. That clip of Lily all tearful did come across as a sad damaged woman.

From what I’ve read of BB, she doesn’t seem like that and might be just a person who can have sex with lots of men and not be affected by it the way an average woman would. People have said here and elsewhere that she’s sociopathic.

I think she rather has a antipathetic attitude towards other women. Internalised misogyny. She enjoys provoking women and seems to get pleasure from that.

I note the male 'porn stars' were paid for their role in her film, but those vulnerable young women were not. They were going to be used up and exploited for BB's financial gain.

Edited

Internalised misogyny would be unsurprising. I hope she finds some help at some point before she really gets hurt.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 31/07/2025 11:25

I get the feeling this woman will come to a bad and untimely end.

But risk of harm isn’t the same thing though, is it?

I completely agree there is risk of harm but that doesn’t mean it’s inevitable, and it doesn’t mean that she can’t make a deliberate and calculated decision, weighing up potential risks and benefits and making her own choices.

As it stands, there’s nothing to suggest she’s been harmed. She’s decided that she wants lots of money and she’s ok with making it this way.

I hate the fact that it sounds as if I’m defending her because I’m not. I think the whole situation is abhorrent.

I’m just struggling with the idea that a woman can’t make immoral lifestyle choices without being “troubled”.

She may end up with a jaded view of men but I think there are plenty of us who reach the same point without doing porn.

Thing is we can all say things like that but we're not psychologists and even if we were, we wouldn't know.

You're basically just projecting how it would feel for you, onto her. That's natural enough, but there's no evidence she would feel the same way. There's a spectrum of people and their reactions not least when it comes to sex.

Oh i dunno she was recently escorted from a football stadium because she was randomly offering blow jobs this isn't (in my opinion) somebody who has a healthy approach to sex and displaying healthy sexual behaviour !

And I don't think it will escape these women either, I honestly think in years to come their mental health will suffer.

Most girls like guys using thrm “ good girls “ more than the guys enjoy doing it

girls that get called a good girl in that perverse context in my experience it makes them proud and happy
2 girls I know brag about it to friends lol

MrGHardy · 24/06/2025 18:05

Today I learned they are not the same person. I thought Bonnie Blue was Lily Philips' stage name lol

What I find about this and other situations is how the women are denigrated, but the men participating in this, either actually or as consumers of the end product, the people denigrating the women say nothing about them. And I think that says it all.

SisterTeatime · 24/06/2025 17:58

Nobody who was mentally and emotionally well, women or men, would do this, enable it or seek to justify it. I don’t think she ought to be called names, but I think it’s totally fine to say that her behaviour, and that of the men involved, and all those making a profit, is disgusting and not something a decent society should tolerate. In fact I think name calling is a bit of a red herring, it’s not as if she can do any of this stuff on her own. Lots of people are involved. It’s dangerous and to be deplored.

bringbacksideburns · 24/06/2025 17:18

I agree. If it was a reasonably attractive and articulate man selling himself in this highly publicised way on OF etc would he gain such hate? Would he hell.

I’m genuinely interested in the men who stood in line to take their turn like they were on a conveyor belt. Number 200 your time is up! With their balaclavas on and identities kept secret. I cannot ever imagine women queuing up like that for sex so openly. It smacks of seedy desperation and weirdness. Totally devoid of any real emotion. Very robotically done.

It is rage bait and sometimes I think is it some sort of big secret social experiment conducted with someone Andrew Tateish and will there be a big reveal at the end?

Is that really her mother or has it all been a very lucrative con within the porn industry?

When is someone a porn star and when is someone a prostitute?

AmandaHoldensLips · 24/06/2025 16:57

I cannot begin to imagine in what world a young woman would want to offer herself up as an unfeeling, dehumanised vessel to be abused and destroyed by a queue of disgusting, awful, abusive, porn-addled men.

Money? I guess. But this is so much deeper than that.

What depth of self-loathing would that take?

Although I have not read, and actively avoided the revolting salacious reportage, I would have thought that she would need sectioning.

Poynsettia · 24/06/2025 16:47

Where is everyone seeing this is it on YouTube or something?

oldwhyno · 24/06/2025 16:41

Pretty sure she literally is a slut and a whore though. It's not misogyny to call a spade a spade.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 24/06/2025 16:24

In fact it seems to be very much in the "performance art" genre. I'm sure if she did it at the ICA, they'd love it!

BB has reportedly planned to be naked in a box in a theatre and men can come do what they want. I don't quite know how that will work.

We really are plumbing the depths of depravity here aren't we. At least the law now says you cannot consent to actual bodily harm (well done to the brilliant women behind We Can't Consent to This) so if anything like that happens I hope the men get the book thrown at them.

Well that's what Yoko Ono and Marina Abramovich did in their performance art gigs when they sat and stood immobile in an art gallery and invited the public to do what they liked to them. In the case of both you could see the men getting more emboldened snipping off clothing and getting increasingly aggressive.

I kind of think they’re doing everyone a favour by showing quite how gross men are

So a service or a sacrifice for the good of woman kind?

NextRinny · 22/06/2025 14:28

There's a difference between an immoral life style choice - a choice against the norms of society and a self-harming choice for money.

NextRinny · 22/06/2025 14:26

Harm... that notion that seems to be undefinable if the target isn't in danger of immediate death. Especially if money is changing hands.

Yes, I’m sure BB will monetise that as well.
