its “ why do we do this and is it really in our best interests”

and if you feel shamed by people asking the questions it’s not the questioners fault

I think it is for individuals to decide what’s in their best interests and certainly not the op. You don’t get to tell someone why they wear the clothes they do.

I wear a bikini, when I was young I wore mini skirts, I am not averse to wearing a low cut top or a see through blouse...why? because I like them.
A man does not enter my thoughts when I dress, what he likes or doesn't like is of no concern to me.

I suspect the majority of women dress with the same mindset.
THAT is liberation.

And getting alternatives is often not easy, because of the awful clothing retailing we have in the UK. Goes back to the days of the Philip Green empire, a man who comes across as very nasty.

Also…. as crazy as it sounds to some, wanting to look attractive to the opposite sex is an actual thing, always has been, always will, and (gulp), thats not a bad thing.

I don't really think there's much difference between a swimsuit and a bikini in terms of male gaze.

It's more the cut and style which makes a difference. I really don't think the sight of a bit of stomach or back makes much difference V how it sits of breasts.and buttocks

Bikinis dry quicker and are easier to change in and out of.

I don’t wear a bikini for a man’s gaze, I wear a bikini to get a tan over more of my body!

im not sure many men would be gazing at my 48yr old body .
