Good news, and particularly that if a result is under dispute, no fighting until it's resolved.

World Boxing is to introduce mandatory sex testing, and IK is banned from boxing in female competition unless IK undergoes testing:

I think that it maybe a work around in athletics/swimming, if there are enough lanes but I can't see it working in contact sports.

Maybe though WB will try a version of what the CIF has done, although the safety issue is still very much the concern.

The issue is that the WB is effectively the IOC.
By removing IK they will be going against their parent company.
Ironically if they did so it would probably cement their position over the IBA.

World Boxing's very detailed governance and ethics policies look pretty good, so you'd imagine that a simple swab test for all boxers seeking to take part in women's competitions wouldn't be an issue for them.

Does he have much to protect in the groin area, though?

It's interesting to read that he has gone up a weight class - I pointed out during the Paris Olympics that he had already gone up a weight class from the Tokyo Olympics, and that for a biological male, that extra weight was going to be muscle and bone mass.

I quoted an unrelated interview I happened to see around the same time where a woman boxer said she had tried to go up a weight class, but it didn't work out because she just got heavier but not stronger, and lost fitness.

It was a perfect illustration of why Khelif in Paris, boxing as a lightweight, was more dangerous than Khelif in Tokyo, boxing as a welterweight and even moreso at ..what is he now, light middle?

He wears a male boxer,'s groin protector - there are photos. The protectors worn female boxers are a different shape, for very good anatomical reasons.

He doesn't behave like a girl in a Muslim country. He doesn't dress like a Muslim girl. So I'm saying his pants are on fire.

I don't hold out much hope for 'clarity' then.

This is what happens when the vaccuuous burble on about some men are women.

They're not. None of them are. This is a man who wants to batter women and is being enabled.

If I was the parent of a female boxer who was injured by a male, I would sue. I'd take it to court and find out when they were made aware he was male. And what their safeguarding policy was.

So, this is, in part, a power struggle between the IBA and World Boxing? Sounds a bit to me the IBA might be on its last legs? Vilified for being under Russian control, with shiny new World Boxing set up to replace it. But surely both organisations would find Khelif an embarrassment?

Unbelievable that this is still going on. Everyone is aware of the situation now so they are enthusiastically, knowingly and wilfully putting women at risk.

Let’s hope it doesn’t take a woman being killed or brain damaged by this man to make the Boxing authorities own up to their dereliction of duty in safeguarding their boxers.

It is turning boxing into a “sport” like bear baiting or cock fighting, with promoters, and unfortunately spectators, looking for blood not skill.

I think sadly, that they will fall back on denying that they know. They will maybe fall back on not having test results taken to their standards and that they have an inclusive policy anyway.

I think though that this will have to force World Boxing to make their position clear.
