In which case they won’t be using “women’s” toilets?

Recently used the new mixed sex toilets in Perth Museum. Individual cubicles on a main thoroughfare, floor to ceiling doors, washing facilities in each one, spotlessly clean.

They seemed ideal. Just don’t understand the issue with them.

For years, independent cafes, etc. have just had one facility for everyone and I’ve genuinely never encountered any of the horrible issues listed on this thread.

I think the fear being whipped up about mixed sex toilets is far, far worse than the reality and is frightening people unnecessarily.

It is interesting because I am always listening to people’s experiences in order to form an opinion on what is safest. However there a few familiar posters that will not debate and say that there is no problem because I have never had one.

Then I say my points about all the research, government reports etc etc I have done and people still try to ignore.

I even had one person who said they had epilepsy say if they collapsed behind a toilet door it wouldn’t matter because it’s better to have ‘enclosed toilets for trans people’. What about another person with epilepsy? Maybe they say they are trans too? It’s a small possibly because 1% of the population have epilepsy. In fact one in three of us will have a seizure at one point in our lives. Do you speak for them? Now there’s a dilemma because it’s only single sex toilets that can have door gaps that would enable someone to see them and get help. Are they too vulnerable or the wrong kind of vulnerable?

All these medical conditions I talk about don’t care about identity in reality.

Trans women are men. That risk doesn’t change because they have a dysphoria/feel differently about themselves. Deeming themselves trans doesn’t automatically mean they suddenly pose no risk.

This thread is about changing to all mixed sex toilets so yes men will use whichever.

No, they aren’t. Trans women are, though and isn’t that what this thread is about? Heterosexual men in general don’t use women’s lavatories, in my experience.

Safeguarding measures (single sex spaces being one) exist to protect you from the tiny minority that may harm you, not for the majority who statistically won’t.

As I said above, @BunfightBetty . The trans community represents a tiny, tiny proportion of the population, as you know.

The number of that community behaving in the way you describe is likely even tinier.

The amount of scaremongering on these threads is entirely disproportionate and I suspect makes the lives of trans people just trying to go about their business, not hurting anyone, even more difficult than they already are

I don’t need information about something that in reality affects very few women, myself included.

Disagree all you like, but I couldn’t imagine a more monumental waste of my time than popping up on threads to tell everyone how much it doesn’t interest me and not engaging further than that. Hardly makes for great discussion. That’s just me though.

My X timeline is full of them it's an epidemic, thankfully there are many organisations calling them out on their behaviour.

Why do you regularly pop up on these threads to tell everyone how much you’re not bothered by mixed sex toilets and spaces and you don’t know what the fuss is about trans people (when it’s actually men).

How much time does one have to waste to go on threads they’re not interested in, to tell them they’re not interested in what they’re discussing.

If you’d actually read the threads (that you’re not interested in) like you say, you’d know what the issues are. I hang around nice men, I don’t want them using single sex toilets/spaces either.

I have never seen any men in women’s toilets, good or bad.

Personally I've only worked in two places out of 8 which had single sex loos and it was honestly never an issue because they were individually locking with sink in the loo, just as you would find with an accessible bathroom.

To be honest, in the two places, incisive my current workplace, where loos are single sex they have been utterly, utterly disgusting to the point that by after lunch I won't use them. In one previous workplace which had womens only loos there were about 8 toilets on our floor and by the end of the day each one had faeces smeared over the seats and noone knew who did it because it was a big work place. I used to have to go to a different building to use a clean loo. In my current workplace we know who it is but it's a very small team so noone wants to say anything.

The idea that men are dirtier is a stereotype unfortunately. The gender neutral loos were always cleaner in my experience. For me as long as they are fully enclosed and lockable with sink in the loo just like most accessible bathrooms it's not an issue. Sinks in communal rooms and cubicles I understand why people aren't OK with.

Not sure why you're quite so scathing about women being concerned for their safety? Why does it make you cross that we are concerned with protecting women and girls?

It's (very clearly) not about who I hang out with 🙄. It's about what some men do. Obviously. If you've never heard of men doing things like this, then I'm happy you've never had to experience it, but surprised you are so naive as to disbelieve that it happens. An idle Google will inform you.

And as has been pointed out ad nauseam on this board for years, it's not that we are 'anti-trans' it's that we are concerned about the risks posed by men. Which includes trans women. Those risks are not imaginings plucked from our backsides. They are documented risks evidenced by official statistics from the ONS, amongst other credible sources.

Well I would hope any hoverer has the common decency to clean the toilet seat of their own piss. How bloody ironic that someone scared of sitting on a toilet seat that another human beings thighs have touched is quite happy to leave their own urine for someone else to deal with.

The majority don’t need to. Enough post photos of themselves and describe their own behaviour to make us aware that it is indeed a thing.
