I'm not a fan, and I can think of far better things to spend £60 on, but how is selling a course a grift?
It's not as if he's doing a Good Laugh Project and fund raising for legal actions that haven't got a hope.

What we need is a plurality of voices. With none of them above criticism. Even if they've got a sound record, they can be criticised over what they did last week, last month, last year, or last decade.

Be careful about having heroes.

And as for the "grift". Just a reminder, it's a course you can sign up to and pay monthly and cancel any time. I'm not sure that's particularly "grifty". From my experience people tend to stick with it, presumably because they perceive value.

I don't think Barry would claim to be a woman's rights hero. I think he comes from an education / edi perspective first. Following closely behind is his experience as a gay man who has known drag queens and TIMs on the gay scene for decades and seen the scene change. Next is the effects on wider society - a fight against queer theory and authoritarianism and all the massive harms they cause, not least to women, truth and reality.

His course is fascinating, as I have said before. It really does encompass so many fields of study, and aims to help people make a positive impact on society. And it is about equipping people with the skills they need to make sense of society and keeping themselves sane, so they can make an impact.

To be honest it could be re-written as a general studies thing for kids to help prepare them for adult life.

Sorry to Barry if I have misrepresented him or what he does.

I think it is great that their are different GC voices with different perspectives and mannerisms and personalities, who reach different people as a result. I happen to love KJK, and certain other GC names are less to my taste - but variety is good.

I don't give a flying fuck through a rolling donut about twitter spats but saying that BW has done more for women than VA is just ridiculous.

VA organised the We Need To Talk meetings that were held around the country during 2017/2018. These talks were crucial in developing the grassroots resistance to genderism and the proposed self ID legislation that was being mooted at the time.

Not sure what BW was contributing at that point or subsequently that would have had as big an influence.

It is worth noting how she treated women who want to further understand how we came to be in such a mess with identity politics ruining girls and womens rights and LGB rights. And if we pay to do an online course, so what.

She isn't exempt from criticism.
She certainly dishes it out herself to other prominent activists. Venice has criticised mums who challenge their child's school for affirming 'trans' nonsense. It's really difficult for parents and instead of remaining neutral because (as she said herself) she wouldn't complain to the school, she chose to vilify the mums who do.

Barry teaches a course on honing critical thinking skills and how to combat CRT and 'transgender' ideology. He's a gay man fighting for his rights as a gay man. He's no TRA.

Also Venice turned on women who challenged her insults and accusations on Barry, telling them to f*ck off for calling her hypocrisy out. She told women off for paying for a service. Don't women get told enough what to do...yet she felt it happy enough to do the same.

She'd already made her argument before he posted a video about her misrepresenting that point, didn't give her the heads up or indeed, let her respond so she has every right to respond as she sees fit. If someone made a video about you, misrepresenting your point and not even telling you, and not allowing you to respond you might think they were a big of a pig as well.

As I said, I fully supported Barry for years. So you cannot just take one interaction as Venice having no argument. That's the point, she did have one, he just decided to completely misinterpret it and go off on one.

I have no views on Barry W, because I don't know enough about him.

But I do follow Venice on X, and saw her reference to 'his sweaty fat pig face' on 26 May.

Venice did herself no favours by sinking to abusive comments on his appearance. By all means, critique the guy's ideas or methods, but saying somebody has a sweaty fat pig face is just vile. And it tells the world that you have no actual arguments.

I don't understand why you follow him if you don't like him or what he has to say?

I had a 1-1 phone chat with Barry a few years ago, put onto him by someone I respect who clearly found him massively impressive.
I found him OK, but (after 35 years in education around the world) rather teaching his granny to suck eggs.
Very enthusiastic about a couple of ideas which seemed to be a whole lot newer to him than they were to me.
Having said that, I know at least one teacher who did his programme & felt she benefited.
He’s entertaining on Twitter but a bit of a panicker - and not, I’d say, much at ease with strong or decisive women.
I think it’s bad manners to do a video about someone without letting them know. But hardly a serious matter.

I would snap back with an eloquent and pithy reply but I'm too timid, naïve and biddable apparently. So, I'll hide under my duvet until someone rescues me.

Firstly, he is charging men and women, not just women.

Secondly, I would love you to hear some of the women on the course explain what the course has done from them, and what they have acheived since starting the course, and watch you repeat to their face that they are "timid, naive, biddable and not at all likely to ever become a warrior".

There is a massive irony in your last sentence, as well as a lie. Without wishing to put words in his mouth I am pretty damn certain Barry appreciates Venice's work, and the work of anyone fighting CSJ / woke bravely like Venice is. But the irony is this. Arguably the main literal point of the course is to help people fight back against woke / CSJ / TQ+ in their workplace, or their gym or their home or their kid's school. Whilst Barry is trying to ensure as many people as possible have the tools to challenge their kid's school, Venice is taking the opposite approach. She has chosen (and I for one do not blame her one bit for her choice) to NOT challenge her kid's school (and fight for every kid there), and instead rely on her parenting to ensure that her kids don't get sucked into TQ+ ideology. I can only emphasize that I do not in any way blame her for her choice, I do not claim to be more of a warrior than Venice, I do claim that Venice is a brave public campaigner who deserves our support... but the idea that she is a "warrior" [who chooses not to fight her kids school], whilst the people who have signed up to a course to help them fight back are "timid, naive, biddable and not at all likely to ever become a warrior" is just bonkers.

I thought the programme was called 'warrior teachers' and that it was open to people of both sexes?
