I'm dying for a case against the unions, it's absolutely shameful how they have handled pretty much everything. I'm not sure who would be my preferred first example but Jo Grady and the academics finally facing the music would be nice - though it does look like it will be Sandie Peggie going for the RCN.

The legal team will already be on top of which cases are important for setting precedent. We need those rulings, not out of court settlements. I think that if you decline an out of court offer but then win and aren't awarded more than the settlement offer, you're liable for all costs, which can easily exceed the award. (Happy to be corrected.) If that's the case, the fund will mean women can push for the case to be heard when that's necessary to get the precedent ruling without having to weigh up whether a win could still ruin them.

Agree with this. I think they will be looking to support targeted cases affecting schools, hospitals, HE, prisons, unions, gyms, Local authorities, job loss due to GC beliefs, high profile places such as HOC toilets Hampstead ponds, etc. Success in these areas will help bring all the places into line which were “confused about the law”.

It's always The Bee Movie. Seriously - been used to flood a lot of American websites deemed anti trans. I haven't seen it, is there some significance or just the usual reliance on a very limited set of shit ideas/talking points?

There's just a certain kind of man who thinks that as he is a man, he just must be smarter than any woman. We get them on here a lot. Even a woman like JKR, who has done this before and clearly has the knowledge, contacts and resources. They truly think that because they're men, they'll always be smarter than any woman and have thought of stuff she and her team of experts didn't.

It's one reason they're so mad that terfs are winning. We're just stupid, ditsy women, we shouldn't be any match for their male reason and intellectual power. How dare we think of stuff.

Anyway, the team will have plenty of anti spam and DoS protection. JKR won't have to worry about it, the experts who are paid handsomely to do it as their job will handle it. It'll be all in a day's work for them and no worry for her.

It doesn't explicitly say it's only for women, though the name implies it. The eligibility criteria section of the form doesn't exclude men. I've put in an application based on this and will post the reply, which should confirm or deny whether men can apply or not.

I’ve seen a couple of men on twitter being pissed that it’s only for women too. Plus the “this fund will only be used to harass trans people and people she doesn’t like”. I personally think she will back the cases that will have the most impact (sandie P etc) and be instrumental in changing/clarifying the law for the betterment of women. She’s set this up over a long period of time and will have very clear objectives because she’s phenomenal.
