I'm glad Kate got asked to define a man. As she said, words are important. I was really shocked when I first read about the cotton ceiling workshops run by a TW. I suspect a lot of this is beyond most people's radar.

I wish that the “cotton ceiling” had come up. But perhaps would have been a little too much to take in for members of the audience who have been so unaware of the situation that they have only just realised that transwomen are actually men.

I don't mind the questions about "Some people would say [insert viewpoint] is offensive" as long as they're done in good faith and not a stick to beat the interviewee with - they allow for the perceived slights to be addressed.

The repeated use of ‘offensive’ to a lesbian woman who is talking about her attraction to other women is not.

I totally agree @hholiday and others who've said similar. I don't think the BBC realise they are essentially being homophobic when they do this.

This. It was a repeated use and in stark contrast to the acceptance that some men can demand access to women and teenage girls undressing yet there's no trigger warning that most people will find that offensive.

Exactly, I also find it offensive that people think men can be women based on sexist stereotypes and other misogynistic views, and even more so the idea that these people’s offence at not being pandered to in all things is paramount, whereas my offence as a woman doesn’t even warrant thinking about.
