Throw them to the rainbow lions.

This is a very perceptive phrase. I will pocket that and recycle it from time to time. Thank you.

Parts of the NHS clearly has too much funding if there is time and money to be spent on this. The NHS needs to get back to basics and to start addressing waiting lists.

To be fair, it looks like it was knocked up in 5 minutes by the 16 year old on a work placement!

Is this their “please don’t make let the LGBTQ+ network make our lives hell because we’ve had to concede women have actual rights too ” penance?

Interesting how they always completely dismiss all the many women telling them they feel EXCLUDED and UNSAFE by these actions. Their actions show they don't care about women's safety or inclusion at all. . Honestly I think these trusts should be defunded. They're completely broken and pandering to activists rather than doing the job they're supposed to. I don't think it's a coincidence that NHS Fife seems to have a terrible history of mistreating patients at the same time as being all in on gender woo.

borntobequiet · 23/06/2025 19:36

Bloody hell. What a bunch of idiots.

TheOtherRaven · 23/06/2025 19:25

It's as if they're looking at their PR going down the toilet and saying 'hold my beer'.

In all honesty, as a gay woman I am cringing at all this, this is not anything to be 'proud' of. Loathe 'Pride' month and all it's wankery.

I didn't want to start another thread so I'm putting this here. I can honestly not understand why scarce resources are used for this:

There are some absolute fucking idiots working for the NHS.

And as per usual their response is solely focused on protecting their reputation rather than listening or reflecting.

"As an organisation, we are committed to creating a workplace where all colleagues feel safe, supported and respected."

Unless you're a woman.

I think this phenomenon also applies when one has built an identity on work/career.

Retirement and redundancy can be as much about a crisis of identity as anything else.

"If I'm not an engineer, what am I?"

Absolutely this ^^ especially for vocational careers like engineering or medical. I left an employer to start my own company after 20 years and was amazed at how de-stabilising it was. I had not realised how much of my identity was wrapped up in this organisation. Really fascinating. Herminia Ibarra (sp?) has some good talks at the London Business School online about the "liminal state" between careers (identities?) and how dangerous it is - in the sense that if you don't prepare for a crucible-like discomfort/uncertainty your mind will latch on to the first thing that comes along, rather than being able to make a meaningful choice. Human brains are completely weird and interesting.

Executive and Non Executive Directors :: County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

Name and shame the lot of them. How they can tweet that message after trying to punish Karen Danson by allowing the man who had been harassing her in the female changing room to be present at her surgery. Institutional abuse. Should be criminal. Absolutely need to go.

The CEO previously worked in finance. Surely the massive legal costs of breaking the law should be a consideration? They are clearly personally invested and have shown their decision making abilities are compromised as they have openly defied direct instructions from the Secretary of State for Health now as well as the law. I would guess yes, a trans relative somewhere in here, but they clearly cannot make decisions according to the law or discharge their PSED or act according to the Nolan principles and should be sacked.

Anyone that supports the Darlington nurses might wish to add z comment on their raise a complaint form? Simple to find following your link and contact us ..

Show them how appalling they treated women.

@NoBinturongsHereMate That's really interesting as I was reading that article yesterday too. I am vegan and it just didn't resonate with me at all. I say I'm vegan, actually I came to it later in life having been vegetarian for decades. My kids aren't vegan so we have non-vegan stuff in the house and I will, at times, eat leftovers with dairy in them. Absolutely no qualms about it. Similarly if someone gave me eg chocolates as a present not knowing I'm vegan I might give them away but equally I might eat them. I still describe myself as vegan but if someone wanted to argue with me that I'm not it really wouldn't bother me. It's probably more accurate to say I strive to be vegan or something like that and that's absolutely fine. Sorry for the ramble, point being, I thought it made sense in the context of all this too and note that I just don't feel like that in my values and beliefs so it is interesting to try to understand why some people do.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 13/06/2025 07:49

Very much so, yes.

Ditto university faculty. Normally highly intelligent people and I wonder just how can those possibly think ‘gender’ is more significant than our material selves?

I suspect they want to feel clever. They think they know something mere plebs don't - they believe in male/female brains, they think they are in the forefront of new science, they want to be in the vanguard of social change.

Chrysanthemum5 · 12/06/2025 18:40

Basically batshit people are being batshit

Chrysanthemum5 · 12/06/2025 18:39

I work in a university and there have been lots of messages about the SC ruling and how hard it is for trans students and staff but nothing at all referencing women. And now they have a consultation which apparently is re-traumatising trans people by forcing them to comply with a fake ideology etc

I do wonder what the differences are between those that 'believe' and are captured and those that aren't. I know that a lot of Neurodivergent people are captured and I know it's because they feel different, but as an Autistic woman with an Autistic daughter, it just makes me even more fiercely GC. It doesn't make any sense. I deal in facts, no airy fairy identities. It all just seems like the emperors new clothes to me and always has.

I genuinely feel it's like those people who are easy to hypnotise. Some brains seem to fall for it, others go 'Nah, this is hocus bloody pocus'

It is fascinating how it’s affecting different people. I’ve been mulling on whether people who score in concept range of psychometric tests are more likely to go with TRA than the detail people who tend more towards GC?

Then there’s also something about cognitive flexibility- ie being able to think around things and evolve ideas/thinking. Clearly some people make up their mind and then there’s no budging.

I hope when this is all thrashed out someone does an analysis. Maybe then we can work out how to stop this disregard for facts and reality happening again in future

I'm a lecturer in an post 16+ education facility, that has a lot of autistic young adults..
The capture by Stonewall et al, here, is unbelievable

I've tried to raise this as a safeguarding issue, but even now quoting the SC ruling, I'm getting nowhere

I did have to check to see if the account was real and not a spoof because I couldn't quite believe they'd be so blatant about pursuing activism rather than healthcare

The NHS has been absolutely captured for years. Obviously this is not everybody, but I know a fair few people in the NHS, including nurses and consultant level doctors, usually intelligent and compassionate people, and this is the one issue that makes their brains fall out of their ears and start spitting "I don't care!" when you mention patient vulnerability. I'm not exaggerating when I say you mention transgenderism and they go into an altered mental state where black is white and dissent is evil.

I apologise to all NHS people who aren't this wilfully thick and dangerous, I definitely don't wish to imply that everyone there is like this, but an alarming number are and it's often the last people you'd expect. I think in years to come, scientists could actually study how this insanity became so baked in among health professionals who cannot possibly not realise it's absurd. It is actually frightening. What the hell happened?
