See, some would say financial institutions should be respectful of boundaries.

On TRA Reddit it seems that there are plans to ban Barclays from taking part in any Pride events.

I honestly just laughed at this, it's totally pathetic 😂

A few years ago all the banks changed their app icons to a rainbow, then after receiving a lot of complaints (particularly from Muslim groups) they stopped doing it.

A lot of people (particularly religiously conservatives) were concerned that could incorrectly be labelled as gay due to the app's icon.

How 'bout being inclusive of women and homosexuals, guys? Some of us find that rainbow monstrosity actually threatening, being the symbol against us that it is.

This is the thing, all they realistically had to do is have ladies and gents toilets, and not make a song and dance about how anyone can use any of them in order to express and celebrate their beautiful, fluid gender identities. It's that easy. Just don't encourage male staff to use the ladies', and if it happens, then deal with it with whatever combination of firmness, sensitivity and tact is appropriate to the situation, like tell them they can use the unisex loo. If companies didn't go gender woo crazy to begin with, there wouldn't be such a furore now. They've painted themselves into a rainbow corner.

I agree, its crazy. The priority for most people in terms of a bank account is whether the bank can keep their money & their details safe, and what products/terms they offer. I'm a lesbian and can honestly say my decision of which bank to use has never been swayed by crap like this.

No wonder their shares continue to be worthless. If only they would look to finance instead of virtue signaling.

Well Barclays have issued advice that they are now enforcing male and female toilets for their staff in line with the law, which has caused a furore online (understandable) so maybe Lloyds are just slow on the uptake.

Fucking hell, I just googled "Lloyds Bank Pride" to see if they were just starting Pride early, and came across their LGBTQ+ page... Woah. I don't know if I can post the link, but here's a flavour:

Like WTF guys, you're a bank, do you really need to be running "an all-year celebration of sexualities and identities"?

This is all just virtue signaling. Businesses are still afraid of the backlash and online attempts to sabotage. Eventually it will all settle down.

Fortunately my local branch closed down, and another firm has moved in. There are no signs of flags there.

The Progress Flag is out of date now, you need the version that includes the Ukrainian flag in it too.

THIS is what I was talking about when I went to close my account (for unrelated reasons) . No other posters on the walls. Just giant progress flags taking over half the walls inside. Honestly felt like I was in some LGBTQ+ venue, not a bank.
