Sturgeon: SC ruling risks making trans lives "unliveable"

It’s hard to read anything from Nicola Sturgeon without getting the urge to bang my head on the nearest wall.

Yes, exactly.

And are there any little clues to warn a man may be dangerous? Like, he forces himself into places where he shouldn’t be? He won’t take No for an answer from women? He ignores polite social conventions? He thinks women’s boundaries are for trampling on? He thinks the world revolves around him and women should indulge his every whim? His self-pity is so strong, it justifies his every abusive action?

Just a thought.

It seems to be totally beyond any of the TRA side to consider that the way to make trans lives better is to agitate for provision for them, specific to their needs, instead of agitating for women’s (and men’s, but let’s face it, it’s mainly been women’s) provision that is specific to the needs of biological women to be diluted and eliminated.

This provoked some overthinking on my part. Maybe I'm getting a taste of the intellectual masturbation which allowed this ideology to take hold.

Stating that transwomen were born male seems to have such a massive impact it upends humanity itself.
But stating they are women has no impact at all on anyone.

Yet transwomen are simultaneously born male and sre women so both statements have to be true. So there is a massive impact and no impact all at once.

Well living a lie probably is quite difficult, especially if it requires compliance from the general public.

Gosh you’d think she’d just keep quiet after her record in government!

She (like certain others) implies that the EHRC has the option of issuing guidance that is significantly more to the TRA side's liking than the interim guidance. But I am really not convinced that the EHRC has much leeway or room for manoeuvre. Their guidance has to fall within the parameters set by the Supreme Court and I really don't think that gives them a lot of options. Nor should it.

Her trans mob are all she has left, she trashed her legacy as first minister and left the job under a cloud of suspicion of criminal activity and financial irregularity pertaining to party donations. We'll never know the full story of how much she knew but she's a busted flush and history will not look kindly on her or her government.
