It seems England’s netball have finally fallen in line to with common sense and fairness in their new eligibility and participation policy.
From their email:
“Under this new policy, moving forward England Netball will recognise three distinct gender participation categories:
Female netball
Male netball
Mixed netball
The female category will be exclusively for players born female, irrespective of their gender identity, whilst mixed netball will serve as the sport’s inclusive category, allowing players to compete under the gender with which they identify.”
Mixed netball has always been around, I played it when I was younger. It was a sharp lesson in the strength and height of men.
I’m glad the sport I love and the sport more women play than any other has finally done this.
