Oh my word, she's doubling down. Criticising courts for being racist.

She seems to be surrounded by flying crosses. Bit odd. She is not even slightly addressing the issues at hand. She sounds utterly unhinged. Now going on about abortion law. WTF?!

She should step down, whatever the vote. It's absurd that she's in such a position of power while making such comments. (edit - this is just my view, not Tess White's!)

Can they de-list her at election time? MPs (MSPs) can't be sacked, there has to be a vote, with 10 of the constituency going for a by election and I think that's only if there's been a criminal conviction.

I have no doubt that Chapman believes herself to be on the side of the angels but the reality is that she’s an enabler of angry men behind verbal and physical attacks on women who reject the idea someone may change their sex. To Maggie Chapman and other privileged politicians and campaigners, the problems of others are to be viewed in the abstract and solutions are to be found in the strict ideologies to which they subscribe. These powerful people simply cannot, I believe, conceive of dangerous circumstances from which they could not extricate themselves. Their support for the dismantling of women’s rights and their contempt for the principles of safeguarding are fomented in a bubble of back-slapping do-goodery, where to question their beliefs if to be a hateful bigot. To a colossal ego, add the failure of both imagination and compassion and you’ve got yourself a Maggie Chapman. And you may keep her.

Pressure building will the SNP and Labour members stand up for the rule of law.

Asked about Ms Chapman's comments on Friday, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said he was "relaxed with people having strong views" but added: "...when we get into the place of attacking the judiciary, attacking law officers, attacking judges, undermining the rule of law and calling people bigoted or racist or sexist based on judgments made on the evidence of the law, I think that takes us down a very, very dangerous route."

Interesting and moving article from Euan McColm here. He talks about his own childhood experience of fleeing domestic abuse. It goes without saying that Chapman’s politics are nothing like Trump’s - but I understand why Euan draws a parallel. It’s the recklessness.

I'd be surprised if this didn't go further and raise questions about her ability to sit as an MSP, really.

Maggie Chapman is not worth lowering your standards for. She is a political horror show who would embarrass a parliament more worthy of the name.
In response to the October 7 attack on Israel, she shared a tweet from another X user that read: ‘Don’t let the Western media fool you into thinking it’s terrorism, this is decolonisation.’ October 7 saw Palestinian terrorists slaughter 1,200 Israelis, including children, while also raping women, kidnapping babies, and shooting family pets. Chapman later expressed ‘regret’ that her soft-peddling of the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Shoah caused ‘significant upset and anger for some’.
She supported a 2022 Scottish Green motion to suspend ties with the Green Party of England and Wales over its supposed ‘transphobic rhetoric and conduct’.
Asked whether the age limit should be lowered to allow eight-year-olds to change their sex legally, she said: ‘I think in principle we should be exploring that.’
When Pam Gosal objected to LGBT Youth Scotland promoting ‘trans ideology’ in primary schools, Chapman said the Tory MSP’s complaint was ‘categorically more of a risk to children’.

Our old chums White and McCloud pretended that that was the case and whined online about how wrong and unfair it was. Wor Maggie's rather hard of thinking, so perhaps we shouldn't blame her for believing that?

Nah, she's a legislator and should know better.

It makes you wonder if she simply identifies as having them.
