@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g in a very surreal turn of events, that same person now appears to be part of a mushroom-related collective (I kid you not) - 'twas on a thread here not long ago and some sharp-eyed person spotted him. If it is him, he’s not 'presenting', as they say, in his former persona any more.

As for recollections of the madness of the last few years - what about Sally Hines tweeting that 'before the Enlightenment, the female skeleton didn’t exist' - leading to this glorious cartoon riposte (with the late Deborah Orr in the thread too)…..

Miranda Yardley, a transsexual who uses the pronouns he/him and is a sex realist, was sued by Helen Islan, who was then or had earlier been the marketing officer for Mermaids and who is mother of a trans-identified child (FTM, transitioned while a minor). In response, she was unmasked by Yardley who tweeted a picture and a link to her real identity. The tweet also referenced her transgender child, which Ms Islan argued effectively ‘outed’ him. She said it led to them both being harassed adding that the post made her feel ‘stressed and sick’. Initially, Ms Islan’s complaint was dealt with by West Yorkshire Police before being passed to colleagues in Essex, who decided it was a hate crime. But when the case reached court the defence referred to pages of social media posts in which Ms Islan herself was regularly tweeting about her trans child, about him taking blockers, that he had ‘come out’ at school. The court heard that a simple search on Google brought up Ms Islan’s personal details, including a family photograph that she had herself posted.

I thought it was the NSPCC who told women who objected that they were homophobic. Then it turned out the guy was straight.

During Alison Bailey's employment tribunal case, Kirrin Medcalfe, 34, the head of trans inclusion at Stonewall, made a last minute request to have with him his mum, a support worker and an emotional support dog. He also needed frequent breaks. Did not make an impressive witness, IIRC.

The fear around pronouns, particularly at work - so many threads of women fearing they'd lose their job if they didn't put their pronoun in their e-mail etc.

Unfortunately still going- that awful Irish doctor in the US who does tiktok dance routines promoting her elective mastectomies to teenage girls. Apparently she intentionally does not have insurance so no-one can raise a case against her malpractice.

In the same vein, GP Helen Webberley, although it is at least some comfort that she can no longer practice and is having to hire immoral doctors to prescribe on her behalf.
