'Far from clarity, the verdict raises as many questions as it answers. Indeed, it has been referred to by the civil servant Melanie Field, who oversaw the Equality Act’s drafting and passage, as having significantly reinterpreted Parliament’s intentions. These questions are primarily about the purpose now of the gender recognition certificate and whether exclusion from single-sex spaces is merely lawful or required. But in protecting women’s spaces such as toilets from predatory men pretending to be trans women, what exactly stops those same men from now accessing them by pretending to be trans men?'

'The 2010 Equality Act has been clarified, not changed. Single-sex spaces have and always have been protected under
@UKLabour
. Those who provide a valuable service at women's refuges use their discretion. That should not be put under threat through this ruling. '

Reform have gone from a minority party to leading in the polls thanks to nonsense like TWAW.

Anyone heard Diana Johnson, Labour MP doing media rounds this morning saying the Met Police have told her the photos of the abusive placards are from historic marches ? An interviewer on Times radio rightly asked her about the photo the union boss shared saying terfs should be hung. We are still being lied to !

Are we meant to just swallow all this crap now?
This is the equivalent of a wife beater saying sorry I love you really, then the woman is supposed to just move on. Fuck that.

I don’t want this dragged out. I’dike a quick solution. We do a ticket lottery at the Royal Albert Hall for members of the public. Anyone in public office who ever said TWAW has to come out on stage and strip off/change into hospital scrubs/army uniform/prison suit etc in from of the crowd. No cameras or film or anything. But just one big “empathy” session where they might finally “get it”?

Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay on Today programme around 7.20am today. Pressed hard by Nick Robinson. Said he thought there was/should be a place for gender critical people in the Greens. ‘Welcomed clarity’ that single sex spaces can be provided. Would not be drawn on whether he thought the law should be changed, said he was waiting for the guidance.

I really want to see which way the Greens go on this. If they stick to their current line, which I think is that it is official policy that TWAW, they will become a political outlier, and will find out pretty quickly that they will be asked about this stance in every political interview they do.

Good to hearm Ramsay has been on the more sensible side so far.

Oh dear Lord, in less than a minute, he says give real clarity, has real clarity we needed clarity, important we have clarity.

This is what happens when you are completely wrong.

You have absolutely nowhere to go. I and millions of women could write reams. without using the same word twice, because we're right and we've got a million different ways of expressing it.

He has no other words, because he is incapable of articulating the SC concept, as fundamentally he has disagreed with it.

So all he can do is substitute an understanding that women are people too, with the non-partisan acceptance that something has been made clear to him.

That's it. His stance is that something has been made clear to him. The end.
