Yes. They are.

So are women's rights. And women also have a right to privacy and dignity. That's why trans people can't share single sex facilities with the opposite sex. Trans people have exactly the same rights today as they did in 2010. Nothing has actually changed.

I'm glad we agree that human rights are important.

Oo look some legal illiteracy.

Judges don't consult. Judges examine what the law says and rule based on what the law written by politicians says. They don't get to write the law.

If the law has definitions they have to make sense of them. If the law makes absolutely no sense if interpreted a different way, then that's probably not how the law was written and the intent of the law.

My response:

Therefore should we calculate the number of women who have died in the process of being unable to access single sex facilities due to various reasons around self exclusion that might affect a traumatised female sexual assault victim or a woman from a religious minority or any other reason?

What's the body count comparison? Can we have some numbers on the death toll likely for transwomen versus the likely death toll for women please?

The Equality Act 2010 was passed on 8th April. This means the political party in power was Labour.

Thus, we can conclude from this, that Sian Berry of the greens think that the culture war was stated by the left wing and by the Labour Party and NOT by the far right.

What I am liking is seeing politicians supporting each other across party lines - Tess White (Conservatives) has replied to Anas Sarwar's revisionist and heavily community noted tweet, pointing out that he needs to apologise to the courageous Carol Mochan and Claire Baker (Scottish Labour) who were heavily punished by their party for going against the whip he imposed.

As ever, one the best parts of the great feminist awakening has been alliances forged across political divides.
