There was something on X where Ingerson was described as a ‘visually impaired, working class, queer person’ and even with all that, Chapman managed to get in.

The whole saga is worse than the article describes. Chapman (allegedly) has some kind of enforcement mob doing her bidding in the party. Some eejit got kicked out after offering to to sort out Ingerson for her! Naturally, when he got caught he claimed he was only joking. The Courier did a series of articles on it and it all sounded so farcical I don't know how anyone can take these people seriously.

I remember when the lib Dems went into coalition there was a piece that said the more Naice and innately progressive "nice party" a group projects itself as, the more insanely ruthless and petty the internal politics. The writer was basing that on the record of the lib Dems in local government

Wasn't her last job at Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre? And now they can't even recruit a CEO because noone will touch it! Admittedly not solely because of Chapman but she definitely helped create the culture and conditions that led to that shitshow. Yes, the BBC article certainly makes it sound like Chapman is highly problematic. It doesn't seem right that Ingerson had to be replaced because there was an outstanding complaint against him when the person replacing him is in the same boat. So the Greens aren't just completely deluded about sex, they are also full of power-crazed bullies and in-fighting.

Is there an argument its best keeping people like Maggie Chapman in parliament where we can see what she's up to? 80k per annum to keep her away from general public life may be no bad thing. Plus, she is a very helpful proponent of the Let Them Speak strategy.

This is one of those areas where the principle bumps up against the outcome, isn't it?

I mean I'm not unsympathetic to arguments for electoral reform, but then it turns out electoral reform means you can't vote out Maggie Chapman.

I think German women are a long way behind on this.

There is Rund Ums Baby but it has gone completely tits up. I used to be a fairly active poster in its Aktuell forum (more than ten years ago) but it's pretty much dead. Days can go by without anyone posting and if there are posts it's usually just posters accusing each other of being far right/left.

Birgit Sippel isn't even a Green or Linkspartei politician. She's in the mainstream SPD, which tells you how far the party of Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt has devolved into craziness.

Don't care about women, children or indeed the law it seems. I really wish we had a decent environmental political party in Scotland.
