Helen Webberly of Gender GP posted a video comparing protecting women's sports with a mouth swab for sex verification to auschwitz.

Well that's a nice calm response.

In the transcript @ArabellaScott posted above this stood out for me:
"And I just felt I felt really sad in my heart that this person has to lie to to herself or himself whichever we way we call it. But, uh, so, the the external image is all
masculine. The internal feelings that all his friends and work colleagues -everyone thinks that it's a man, and it's not It's a woman."

The use of the word it which I've bolded struck me as not seeing the person as a person, but a thing. Similarly "the the" external image instead of their external image referrs, in my opinion, not to a person but a thing.

Having read a bunch of other comments I think the saviour complex is spot on, but I think there's another thing going on here. Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
MSbP in the trans context is ususally parents trying to make personal emotional worth gains through their children. What if a MSbP sufferer didn't have enough supply of what they get from performing MSbP? You'd have to get it elsewhere. Cast your net wider. Can you imagine how much supply to sate your MSbP needs you could harvest from all the confused young people on the internet? How much saving you could do. How important your holy cause would be. How much supply you could reap. Why limit your supply collection from just one or two children when there's so many out there? Industrial scale Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
That's my opinion anyway.

Pertinent, and sad, article in the Telegraph

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/04/16/12-year-old-changed-gender-puberty-blockers-cass-report/

The initial case he recounts, what monsters put a 12 yo girl on testosterone!? That poor child 😢

Blimey. I was going to say that far from insane, Webberly is entirely rational, desperately trying to perpetuate her incredibly lucrative grift.

But having read that, I think she's bloody bonkers.

The two are not, of course, in any way mutually exclusive.

Edited

Her thinking seems very disordered, and sometimes absurdly simplistic, with gaping holes in logic and critical thinking ability.

Yes, there also seems to be saviour complex - that interview from the God Cast has lots of talk about how Good and Kind and Righteous she is, saving the rejected and outcast, bringing them back into the fold, bravely martyring herself for the cause, etc.

I'm sure the fact she's earning a lot of money from all that saviouring doesn't hurt, either.

StanfreyPock · 15/04/2025 12:02

Heard her on the BBC podcast about the Tavistock, episode 7 covering gender GP. Total saviour complex, she sounded absolutely intoxicated by the power rush of giving people what they were being denied elsewhere.

Yes. I listened to that episode too, and that is exactly the impression I got.

This quote came to mind:

“There’s nothing more dangerous
than someone who wants to make the world a better place.”
(Banksy)

Yes, it's a little hard to mimic zealotry, if you don't really feel it, regardless of how rich it's making you.

I suspect the feedback she gets from men desiring her services has gone to her head and addled her brain

That really is a wonderful little speech.

'I think it it is difficult to get your head around it, um, and you know how can somebody who was born a male actually be a female?'

(Obviously, they can't.)

'But if we just put that aside,'

(If we just disregard the truth)

'it's true, it is true that people thought you were a boy when you were born, but actually it's, it's a girl.'

(Accept the impossible. This is the basis of faith.)

'And if we can just go back to that basic premise each time we're confused about it,'

(Stop thinking. Stop trying to make sense. Stop asking questions. If you don't accept my faith you are 'confused'.)

'and understand that transgender people exist and they're beautiful then this world will be a better place''

It reveals entirely a faith based premise. 'If everyone will only believe that men are women when I say they are, everything will be wonderful.'

It's not often you see people spell it out this clearly.

I am delighted Helen has accepted the mission to spread the gospel of trans. I hope her words are going to be shared widely to a huge audience.

Smurhee · 15/04/2025 11:32

Why doesn’t she say come on, chaps, don’t pee or poo on Dave?

But yes.

It's quite stark. Webberley wouldn't dream of admonishing men.

ArabellaScott · 15/04/2025 11:34

I'm still wondering where she got the stats on men ... pooing on other men in toilets.

Because she claims she definitely has them.

Smurhee · 15/04/2025 11:32

ArabellaScott · 15/04/2025 10:39

Her actions and message are shining mega-watts of sunlight on the delusions, hypocrisy and incoherence of GI.

100%. :D

Another day, another HW interview. Today it's 'The God Cast'.

It's a doozy.

'...I've just been somebody who's always wanted the world to be nice and right and happy.'
...

' I met someone the other day who, um, has not told anybody about their transgender feelings. Um, so, they're living as a man completely as a man, looks like a man, voice like a man, name of a man. Absolutely. But you know, um, they disclose to me that actually deep down inside the most tremendously strong feelings that actually they are a woman.

And I just felt I felt really sad in my heart that this person has to lie to to herself or himself whichever we way we call it. But, uh, so, the the external image is all
masculine. The internal feelings that all his friends and work colleagues -everyone thinks that it's a man, and it's not It's a woman. It's that suppression that having to hide it having to not be authentic having to to pretend to be
something you're not.'
...

'Let's take, um, Dave, who's 6'5, um, and Dave has transitioned and is undergoing transition to to be the woman that Dave is, um, if you like. And so then there comes the time when Dave - if we carry on calling her Dave - um, has to decide which bathroom she goes to. And so we have two choices. Let's, let's imagine in our mind's eye that Dave is wearing a skirt and some boots and a jumper a bit like I'm wearing today. Um. Now if Dave goes into the female bathroom the women in there might say that Dave is a risk to her.

If Dave goes into the male bathroom statistics definitely show that Dave is at much more risk to herself by going into the male bathroom wearing a skirt and boots and longer hair than if Dave was to go into the female bathroom.

Um there's no evidence at all that Dave is a risk just because Dave is trans, uh, to other women in that bathroom But if Dave goes into the male bathroom wearing a skirt and high heels boots and and long hair he, she, is definitely at risk in that bathroom. So it's like - oh, gosh, we must protect the cisgender women from Dave who happens to be transgender in the in the female bathrooms. We must make her go into the male bathrooms where she will be at risk of abuse, whether that's physical, or verbal, or emotional abuse.

And the statistics do show us that. Um, and it's like, okay, so whose life is more important the cisgender women who might feel a bit offended? And then, like, do you know what if you feel offended in the bathroom because Dave's in there get out.

You know just let Dave do, do their wee,and then, and then you can go in afterwards. You know, we have a really, we got a problem here?

But I don't think we should say: "Sorry Dave you've got to go in there." And I know you're going to be at risk in there of being peed on, shouted out, pooed on.

'You know what I mean, honestly that's what we've seen. Um, so come on ladies. Uh, we are about inclusion. We are about equality. Diversity matters. Diversity is beautiful. Um, come on, shut up. Let, let Dave go to the toilet for goodness sake.'

That letter, video and petition have exactly the opposite impact that HW is (I assume) seeking….

She appears evangelical, obsessed, incoherent, divorced from reality and entirely hypocritical.

68 comments (can’t read them, not on twix), 100 likes, 37 retweets and 5600 views. 😳

Her actions and message are shining mega-watts of sunlight on the delusions, hypocrisy and incoherence of GI.

I've complained to Change.org.
Report a policy violation link is below the introductory 'The Issue' blurb on the petition website

I can't find the thread (I'm sure there is one) about the Darlington nurses, but Helen Webberley has reported one of the nurses to the NMC.

"Dr Helen Webberley has taken it upon herself to target ONE of the Darlington Nurses Bethany Hutchinson, in a letter to the Fitness to Practise Directoral, Nursing and Midwifery Council & is promoting a petition demanding that she be ‘struck off’…"

Reminds me of that nutty psychiatrist who set up the crowd funder for Upton.

IIRC from her twitter, she also supports males breast feeding babies 🙄

How are these people scientists? It beggars belief.

Seriestwo · 09/04/2025 15:32

her speech is odd too, this is a woman with a case amount of education and public speaking experience. She speaks very quickly, rapid fire, but with lots of ums and ehms and sometimes doesn’t finish her sentence or nail her point.

I don’t know what any of that means, but it reminds me of being around someone who’s using Coke. I’m not suggesting she does that, just noticing there is something unusual about her speech

ArabellaScott · 09/04/2025 15:25

Seriestwo · 09/04/2025 14:45

I’m not a psychiatrist but I’d be interested in a psychiatrists opinion of her behaviour.

she is grandiose and speaks as if she is a saviour. Which is dangerous around vulnerable people

I did notice the emotive and grandiose terms - trans people are 'beautiful', for example. Odd descriptor. What doctor describes their patients as 'beautiful'?

Also the strange infantilisation - what doctor refers to breasts as 'bosoms'?

If sex is registered, it needs to be on the basis of sex. Gender or gender identity is not relevant to anything or anyone.

I think we all agree with that!
