I totally understand your nuanced view. I was also very impressed by the clarity of the EO regarding sport, female spaces, children "medicine", and part of me also worries that the democrats might become even more resistant to change, because of Trump's behaviour on all the rest. (BTW, I'm in the UK, so I can't claim I understand all the nuances of the US political landscape).

However, there are a few things that will, in my opinion, have long lasting effects. Some examples: the inquests on gender medicine, the lengthening of the statute of limitation for medical malpractice will change US gender medicine in an irreversible way. Even without the EAs, whistleblowers will feel more supported, and insurances will start thinking.
I also don't think that sport rules will be changed back: it's not what the public and the athletes want, I suspect that most sport bodies were just waiting for an outside intervention to do the right thing.
Finally, the definition of woman and men is scientifically sound, simple and I think here to stay.

Things are so mad in USA that Trump, who doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks, was probably the only one who was ever going to act on this issue

Most posters will say something akin to it’s possible to agree with some things and not others. This is true, and it is also true that I also agree the two EOs you refer to are a good thing.

However, I also feel the two EOs were a form of exploitation and leverage. Trump knew these were trigger points, and it’s no accident that they were some of the first EOs he signed. He is exploiting women and children (remember the images of Trump surrounded by young girls at the signing?) for popularity.

Again, posters here might say it doesn’t matter as long as these things happen. I think it does. I’m not getting in bed with the wolf even though he seems harmless.

He didn't invent sex realism, it's just common sense for the vast majority.
His foreign policy and support for Putin has no connection with being sex realist.

But if leftists keep pushing the idea that reality and women's rights are aspects of Trumpian politics, all they will do is make Trumpian politics seem more respectable because of being associated with something that is obviously and fundamentally true - that sex is material reality.
