Elon Musk's trans daughter outs him for sex-selective IVF ie he wants sons

Some of the wording in the article are not exactly FWR, but am posting more because (and it may not be true) the 15 (?) children he now has are because women have willing acting as "hosts" for IVF created babies. (Not surprised he would only want sons.)

In a post on Threads on Monday, Wilson — who is estranged from her father and frequently calls him out on social media — accused Musk of viewing her as “going against the product that was sold” when she came out as trans.

“My assigned sex at birth was a commodity that was bought and paid for. So when I was feminine as a child and then turned out to be transgender, I was going against the product that was sold. That expectation of masculinity that I had to rebel against all my life was a monetary transaction. A monetary transaction. A MONETARY TRANSACTION.”

Musk has made headlines over the years for his controversial approach to fatherhood, including his decision to have 14 children in large part because he is concerned with population decline, according to Walter Isaacson’s biography Elon Musk.

Now, Wilson is suggesting that Musk is focused on having boys through IVF. Out of his 14 children, he only has two cisgender daughters and one trans daughter, the rest are boys.

“How the f—k is this legal,” Wilson commented on her own post.

I see you have read the book.

I see you don’t understand the concept of the meme.

Come off it. That sarcastic meme doesn’t work here. Musk is a white man who regularly champions right wing, and extreme right wing positions and posts, has control over one of the world’s largest propaganda tools, has ascended to power in a major world power’s government through non-democratic means, makes Nazi-like salutes, and has an interest in purity of genetics for future generations of those he deems suitable. He’s right up there with the most “most like Hitler” person you could possibly think of in a “most like Hitler these days” competition in 2025.

Exactly this. It's like watching a train going fast towards a cliff. Awful...

I think this sums it up.

I hadn't known about the death of his first child by SIDS. He's dropped even further in my estimation, what sort of person would accuse someone of emotional manipulation for grieving over their dead baby?

Musk was grieving over their dead baby too.

Why would he be an idiot when there is lots of women who have 'gender disappointmen' and want a certain sex or do some old wives tale to try and get what they want or use any method they think will get them what they want, like tin choosing a tin of beans on the shelf, and saying when women do it is more complicated when men do it they are just evil

I don't like ordinary women doing it anymore than Musk. It's wrong.

So I don't see what your argument is here.

I like some of what Musk says and does, but not everything. That is normal. No one is ever 100% what you want them to be.

I'm strongly opposed to surrogacy and to some extent IVF (I believe that people who can't have children should adopt)

But while it's legal you can't simply paint someone as evil for using it.

So he used IVF as many on here have. He favours sons which many do. There are social and ethnic groups who feel strongly about that remember.

I suspect the crucial point is that he is friends with the guy the US people voted for instead of the one they were meant to vote for.

I cant imagine how any woman would be physically attracted to Musk, but if it wasn't about money, what could any woman see in him.

See above post.

I really don't think it's about the money. I think he is a highly intelligent and charismatic man. He does have interesting things to say and likes to do things differently. I can see why some women would go for it. Especially combined with his obvious power. It'd be easy to get sucked into it and feel special if he showed interest and gave enough attention. I think it's missing the point to say you think it's all about the money. Whatever you think about him, he's been successful because of something and that will mean he's attractive. At least at first. But his rise also is indicative of a degree of utter ruthlessness too. Something you might not see initially, because you are swept up in the love bombing.

Emotionally abusive men are often really lovely and charming from the outset. And there's the boiled frog syndrome where you don't realise for a long time how you are being controlled. It's only comes to a head much later on.

Its no different to any other scenario with less famous men. These women are arguably victims and probably should be seen in that context.

I actually do think some of what Musk says has merit. That doesn't mean I don't think he's an appalling human being and that he's also incredibly wrong about a bunch of other things.

It's too easy to cast him as a Bond villain who is always bad and always wrong. That's not real life. And actually power can be derived precisely from the fact he's spot on a certain percentage of the time, because that's what's made him successful and made others listen to him. That's what actually makes him dangerous - the fact he IS sometimes spot on the mark.

If he was worried about population decrease he should be having girls? Or at least 75:25 girls to boys. Boys can’t have babies and so aren’t girls the limiting factor?

I find it interesting that when there are enough women, women are unimportant. When women are a scarce resource, women are commodities to be controlled. It never ends well for women.

Obviously successful men can have many many children with little effort. Women can only ever have 15 or so at the most, and even with unlimited money, will lose at least a year of focus to each one. (Broadly speaking).

We haven't had any girls born in our family {since me} for decades- all boys. Sons, nephews, grandsons.. and I know of other families who just have girls. {Edit...via natural methods..not IVF}

Edited

Sometimes weird proportions happen in families. My great grandmother had two brothers and ten sisters. Obviously long before IVF was invented, and in a poor family who wouldn't have been IVF users anyway.

As for Musk, I have no idea. I can believe him capable of all sorts of mad transhumanist stuff, but I don't want to go off my preconceptions of Musk and believe everything said about him, even/especially by his estranged son, is true.

myplace · 13/03/2025 07:05

Of all the weirdness that is Musk, gender selection in IVF is downright ordinary. It’s one distasteful thread in a tapestry of eccentricity.

DH is ND, though not officially diagnosed. Not many people our age are. I realised recently that I have to regularly orient him ethically/empathically.
He is very rational and inclined to trample roughshod over individual sensibilities in favour of the ‘sensible’ solution. Also inclined to assume he’s always right, and anyone with any sense will agree, so anyone wanting something different is an idiot. I have to take him down a peg or two quite regularly.

Musk doesn’t seem to have a loving support network keeping him in touch with human decency.

Elon Musk refers to his political opponents as “NPCs.”

This term comes from the gaming world and refers to a nonplayer character that follows a scripted path and cannot think or act on its own, and is there only to populate the world of the game for the actual players. Amanda Marcotte of Salon notes that Musk calls anyone with whom he disagrees an NPC, but that construction comes from the larger environment of the online right wing, whose members refer to anyone who opposes Donald Trump’s agenda as an NPC.

The point of the right wing’s dehumanization of political opponents is to dismiss the pain they are inflicting. If the majority of Americans are not really human, toying with their lives isn’t important—maybe it’s even LOL funny to pretend to take a chainsaw to the programs on which people depend. “We are ants, or even less,” Waldman writes, “bits of programming to be moved around at Elon’s whim. Only he and the people who aspire to be like him are actors, decision-makers, molding the world to conform to their bold interplanetary vision.”

This is awful. Isn't it the equivalent of calling red state voters "red necks", though?

I don’t think he’s really “outing” anything here as Musk’s sex-selected children have been talked about for years now. One of the women that he’s had multiple children with is a scientist at his Neuralink company in San Francisco. He’s clearly very interested in how his genetics manifest with different women who have different traits. Batshit for sure.

He sounds a little like... Hitler.

Is there any evidence that Musk is selecting sex? There are plenty of large sets of non-ivf siblings of same sex within families out in the world. I am guessing we all have friends where there was one more child to get a girl (or boy). With the same sperm provider in each case this can end up with larger and larger families of all boys (or girls). Agreed that Musk's stats are at the extreme end.

I have no insider knowledge on Musk's reproductive schemes but considering the source here I want more evidence than this person's word. If there was one mother involved in all births then the conception method might also be known by Vivian. Instead there were many mothers.

How valid is this claim?

She’s disturbed, you don’t have to believe everything she says simply because you don’t like Musk.

Honestly, what is going on on FWR? This wild conclusion plucked out of thin air.

Who said I believed what was said. But made the quote so as to talk about the point that troubled me.

And in fact I know very little about Musk, so again jumping in to the wrong conclusion. And have learnt a lot about him from this thread as many seem to have followed his career.

I just dont understand this endless need to find fault rather than engage in discussion.

If you think the OP of a thread is just bonkers you could just find a thread you are actually interested in and engage positively.

Sex selection of embryos is very common during IVF in the US. Having done IVF myself multiple times and talking to friends, women at my clinic and support groups, more chose the sex than don't.
