I think males should be banned from female sport and anyone should be allowed to enter the male / open category. The US President has just signed an executive order saying this.

Females need their own sports for reasons of fairness, competitiveness and safety. I am glad that orders like this make it easier to talk about these issues without being called a biggot.

Everyone deserves fair opportunities, women and girls are under represented in sport, this can only help that get a little better.

Transgender sports people also clearly deserve opportunities to participate in sport and so trans women and men should be allowed to enter male / open categories or have their own categories if needed.

@NoSoupForU - it's only 6% of TW who do actually do anything to transition. The other 94% don't make any changes to their body.

YANBU but in the wider world people are doubling down on their TWAW stance because the sense in this one decision is lost in the insanity of his others. To too many people it just looks like one more crazy Trumpism.

Well, no. Because primarily trans sportspeople aren't just dressing as the opposite sex but are in the process of transitioning, if not already fully completed. So it's not a level playing field from any perspective really.

I'm absolutely in favour of womens sport being reserved for biological women, because of the difference in male and female physique, stamina etc.

But male sports should also be reserved for biological males as I'll never support double standards.

Either there needs to be an open category, or trans people have to accept that they can't participate in gendered sports competitions.

They can compete just in the categories of thier biological sex surely?

This is actually a really good point. I hadn't realised it. A few years ago, someone would get cancelled/insulted etc for daring to say men are men. Now the person who said TWAW (outside of young students) would be laughed at. Thank goodness. About time.

I'm not being arsey, it's just that no one can ever explain this, other than to say it is because they say they are women therefore they are.

I agree but I wish this issue could be less partisan because I think a fair playing field and not causing one disadvantaged group to be supported at the expense of another is not a right wing thing but is a cross party thing and this association won't help people see that it's not about transphobia.

But left wing people don't agree with you. They think that you can be whatever sex you claim to be, and as Kier Starmer claimed, that women can have penises etc etc

The right are your only hope here.

Trump couldn't give a single shiny shit about transgender folks.

They caused this themselves. As a biological male, expecting to compete against biological females, regardless of whether you have gender dysphoria or not, you have XY chromosomes and male strength - it is narcissistic, self absorbed, selfish and frankly batshit to have ever thought your right to play where you want trumps every female.
They, and only they, have caused the 'hate'.

You can't just do whatever you want in life regardless of it's impact on others.

Decent TW, of which there are plenty, wouldn't dream of competing against biological women.
