So many faces I recognised! Fiona McAnena, Michael Foran, Sarah Phillimore, Richard Dawkins, Maya of course...was a great afternoon. As pp said the protesters did not arrive until we were in the venue and we could almost convince ourselves they were not there at all, but Julie said "Oh I thought they didn't love us anymore" when they did appear. The protesters were moved on before the meeting ended. Afterwards one of the attendees were heard saying "we are all going to the Turf Tavern, very apt" but we went across the road with a lovely group of sex realists. Helen was fab, Julie was fab, what a day.

It was wonderful and so much more relaxed than the meetings held a few years ago. Great atmosphere and lots of laughs.

Great talk! Only a small handful of protesters during the event (got there late and left early). Did not stop us hearing. So many recognisable terfs there!!

I went to Sharron Davies' talk about women's sport last year (at the Sheldonian) and there was no threatening activity at all, just a young man wearing "look at me" clothes who stood up at the end during questions and went on about honouring identities. He was treated politely and they moved on.

Looked at the Oxford site. The Sheldonian is their largest venue, and this is one of only two events in it that is sold out.

It might be possible to tell the box office so that they can try and resell your tickets and pass the refund on to you if they can do so? It's a sold out event on the website and I'm sure you will be able to get your money back that way.

"Litteracy festival" is outrageous comedy. These people are truly amazing.

But call it what you like, the event is going to be a throwing-down of the gauntlet, in the eyes of certain individuals and groups. They can be quite imaginative in their disruptive efforts (remember the insect release) so I'd expect them to be hatching some nasty plans.

I think the cricket release was peak-batshit. They really have nowhere to go now: they must know they have to be part of the conversation or sit down. And that's all we have ever asked so...
