It does still say this now, but fairly buried down the bottom: "Judge Simon Hirst described Watts – who is a trans woman – as "incredibly courteous and polite" but, passing sentence, told her it was "clear from evidence that you have an obsession with weapons"." Though the third picture (also down the bottom) makes it fairly obvious, too...

When on remand he was held in the male estate. PrickNews were aghast! I can't really see them moving Watts elsewhere.

The BBC have amended the article. There was a reference to watts being a transwomen at the start of the article, which they have removed.

That article just makes the bare minimum gesture towards accuracy in relation to this man's sex. A single remark, halfway through, stating that he is a transwoman, after the misleading pronouns have already given the strong impression he is a woman, and the reference to the 'lesbian and gay community' has implied that he is a lesbian.

There is a ridiculous justice for zoe campaign which has mentioned this before and prick news reported that it was so unfair that watts wasn't housed with female prisoners.

The gun watts attempted to create was semi automatic and capable of creating a mass casualty event. I don't think they will ever be truly safe.

MP Robert Jenrick got confused as to what a trans woman was, when Mumsnet interviewed him. He thought it meant a woman who wants to be a man.

I think the article is not clear as some people could read that as a lesbian woman especially with the lesbian quote in there.

They could try looking at the mug shot. Personally I find male pattern stubble to be a bit of a clue.

This little treasure is local to me. Lincoln police fb page were writing about a 38yo female arrested for firearm offences. The name rung a bell with a me and I googled and sure enough, remember them from the last time.

If he's been remanded doesn't that mean he's been sent to a prison? Iirc there's another man, who killed his male partner with a samurai sword, who was remanded to a woman's prison. He identified as a transwoman and the man who was murdered used to but had desisted. That crime definitely post dated the change to the rules about which prison tw get sent to. I think as it's remand it must be a loophole that the activists exploit.
