Women's football. Totally different kettle of fish.

Fans especially are very protective of gnc women (which is what they think BB is) and lesbians, and think LGBT is or should be one big happy family.

Players haven't covered up affairs to my knowledge. Women footballers in Europe are mostly, and openly, lesbian. More straight women coming in now, so it may be more like 50:50 gay:straight. Some have documented their struggles with accepting their homosexuality.

Football fans? The same fans regularly accused of racism, homophobia and transphobia are captured?

Players? The same players who covered up affairs with trans women out of fear of embarrassment and others like the Argentine team criticised for their transphobic songs?

It'd be great to hear some of the Lionesses speak up on this.

Every time I see something like this,it reinforces to me, that my decision to refuse to pay for a TV licence was the right one.
I knew that this man would win,the moment that I saw the nomination.
I bet the BBC are besides themselves with virtuosity.

Football - fans, players, governing body - all captured. So mostly they don't care and are on the side of the males (who they think are females, unfairly stigmatised for looking too masculine).

Bandas team, Orlando Pride has just won the National Womens' Soccer League and Banda is the second highest goal scorer.. the highest goal scorer is Temwa Chawinga... also rumoured to be XY with DSD.

It is beyond sad, beyond infuriating, beyond belief... but here we are!!

I knew before looking at the photo what I would see. This person doesn't look remotely like a woman. Why do they keep doing this? There are loads of good sportswomen, why not pick a role model for the girls of today? All this does is say don't ever think you'll win because we won't judge on merit, we'll "be kind" .

Try getting odds for it down at the bookies Mrs P! I think that will tell you the answer.

There are some interesting pictures on line of this man tackling female players . Let’s say he doesn’t hold back. I’m not surprised he scores so many goals, it must be easy to keep possession of the ball when most of your opponents are lying on the pitch having had the shit knocked out of them!

Has a transman, or a woman with a DSD, ever won Sportsman of the Year? I'm not sure I have to check, do I?

I know, it's a complete travesty and a farce. They've rendered the award utterly meaningless.

It's open to the BBC to exclude male footballers from the running, even if Fifa and the FA allow male footballers in women's football. I would have thought. They choose who to nominate in the first place.
