Ah yes, I remember an incident involving the former mayor of Bangor where friends of his theirs (butchering the language is a pain) was chucked out of a nightclub. The ex-councillor claimed that security were transphobic, but in practice if any group of people go into a nightclub toilet together the bouncers will be removing them immediately because the venue cannot afford to risk their licence.

I know what you mean. There is a suggestion there's a difference between the two. In practice, there is no clear dividing line.

I wonder if it was thrown down in protest or came off in the "scuffle". I wish I had saved the clip of the TW (in the US I think, maybe standing outside a fast food place??) who was having a go at a lady.... and when the lady didn't get intimidated by the performance the TW ripped the wig off and threw it to the floor. Security guards getting heavy handed is a horrible thing to watch, in any scenario. But it's the inevitable conclusion if people don't do what's been asked of them. I remember a night club bouncer threatening me with removal. I had spoken up in defence of my then boyfriend who had simply been standing by the stage when some people were messing about - I was standing next to him when he got spoken to by security. I told them he wasn't involved and they got bolshy in return. I knew that my only option was to stop talking as they had all the power (which obviously isn't always fair but it's what happens when you've got sober bouncers and drunk people). If things ended in an actual scuffle there will have been some kind of build up.

Fair point. My sarcasm was at the situation rather than the PP but it won't necessarily have come across that way. I remember exploring similar things when I did believe that everyone had a gender identity, so apologies if that was the case and my sarcasm felt like an attack on such an exploration. It wasn't.
