Has anyone noticed a dialling down in PRIDE logos on business websites today?

I agree with that. It seemed strange terminology to use though. As if only people who agree with you about Pride could be LGB. When the truth is Prides all around Britain are full of LGB people.

I think peak Pride was 2022, when everyone was doing Pride (even Lego), the usual suspects are still doing Pride ranges (like Adidas, Calvin Klein etc), but by the looks of it they've dropped having men wearing bikinis now, and toned down the ranges.

Remember Sainsbury's two years ago had a big stand with Pride party pieces, they didn't do that again due to poor sales.

No, people are fed up with Rainbow Washing. Are you fine with it? Genuine LGB people like me are fed up with this commercialised nonsense from companies that dared not show any support 15 years ago.

Pride has fuck all to do with LGB rights nowadays - just like Stonewall. I’m a lesbian living & working in London, & in June I avoid the centre as much as possible because those flags feel hostile.

Which is pretty depressing given how excited I was about my first Pride march 20-ish years ago.

I've just been out to blue water. I only noticed one reference to it in tgi Fridays but nothing other than that. It's only 01/06 tho so they have plenty of time to ramp it up.

Which month is disability awareness month?
Which month is anti-racism month?

I don't know about anti-racism month, but Disability Awareness month is July and (as part of our ED&I stuff) I'm making sure that we do plenty to celebrate it at work. I had said I was taking a backseat on Pride month but decided it was probably wise to do some bits and pieces to make sure the focus was mostly with LGB.

I think it is just an easy reach for a lot of large companies. Draw a rainbow on the logo and then carry on. It’s the cynicism I have a problem with.
My friend has a small independent business. He always has a sign in his window during pride that says something like ‘don’t shop with the big companies because they’ve put a rainbow on their shop, buy stuff from me, an actual gay.’

As for ‘when is straight pride’, that’s just like ‘when is international men’s day?’

I don't get why it needs to be a whole month. It's a bit overkill. A week would be better.

I was saying it's overexposed. Literally used the word.

When anything becomes overexposed, people tire of it and switch off.

In case anyone is concerned, I didn't buy the bunting but I did shop in the shop. No one seemed to be even interested in the Pride display. To circle back - it's overexposed.

It's gone from promoting tolerance to generating irritation and has now become highly counterproductive.

I f*cking don't care about your sexuality - just live your life however you want, so long as it doesn't harm others.
The route to acceptance isn't to run around in dayglo rainbows proclaiming, "look at me, look at me, look how speeeecschial I am...."

Interestingly my local council sent out a newsletter in which the first item was all about June being Pride month, and the second about how June is also 'Communities Month' (which is general local communities, not LGBT+). Surely if we put all the effort into wider 'Communities Month' this would be a much more constructive thing?
