Indeed. But cue the gender supremacists saying “see? Zambia lost so there is no problem including males in women’s sports, no problem at all!” Every loss will be treated as proof that there is no advantage.

yes, the legislation doesn’t preclude FIFA setting rules that include males in women’s games, but neither does it require it.

what’s interesting is that Sport Australia tends to require inclusion of males in order to receive funding from them. True female-only sport is allowed but codes seem to think it isn’t. Thus, Riley Dennis injuring female players and anyone who complains gets offered reeducation, and AFL had to come up with some euphemistic rules about height and weight to stop Hannah Mouncey playing AFLW. When they could legally just say, this is a female only sport and we don’t have to include you.

What a pity. I was hoping Zambia would win and then all the woke US players would have to discuss the fairness of BB’s participation .

I couldn’t be less interested in football but out of curiosity I tuned in and saw Japan's goal just now. The commentary is clearly praising Banda to the skies as the star of the Zambian team and basically the one on the team to be feared. I wonder why that would be, hmm? 🤔

Despite the actions of the Gillard government (who repeatedly refuse to legislate marriage equality but pushed through gender identity everywhere when no discussion), Australia’s Sex Discrimination Act clause 42(1) still reads as follows.

(1) Nothing in Division 1 or 2 renders it unlawful to discriminate on the ground of sex, gender identity or intersex status by excluding persons from participation in any competitive sporting activity in which the strength, stamina or physique of competitors is relevant.

oh, and pregnancy discrimination explicitly says “pregnant woman”, voluntary bodies can exclude people of a particular sex and so on.

IANAL but including males in women’s and girls’ sports and other facilities in Australia has been entirely a choice.

Can't speak for Australia but this inclusion of men at World Cup level is down to FIFA.

All women should care about this cheating.

I've raised the issue on several football forums,people are surprisingly reluctant to discuss it.

I'll keep mentioning it though.

That’s a good article by Oliver Brown. He really knows his stuff and he won’t let this rest now. It’s good to have scrutiny on football. They’ve been dodging this issue for years now and a bit of pressure is good
