Am I the only one here who, in context of safeguarding would be totally ok with being asked what genitalia they have? I don't see why it's so offensive.

Maybe it's because of a lifetime with female biology I have heard so many more disgusting questions and comments aimed at said biology.

I am saying it's less appropriate for her to ask someone if they have a penis than to report her concerns to the people who are in the position to a) remove the individual b) consider any incident in the pool's policies. I did not assume the lady to be wrong or lying, but nor did I assume what she perceived to be true. People are more likely to have biases against transgender individuals, just as they are more likely to have biases against many other minorities or categories of people they may have biases towards. I refer to my post earlier about a friend being stop-searched due to being Asian and, by the someone's perception of 'looking shifty', and then released without search when it became clear he was accompanied by someone who was white. Two biases at play there. If you have a concern about a terrorist on a train, don't stop them and ask if they have a bomb, report suspect behaviour to the appropriate place to handle the claim.

Agreed. This is one woman who perceived the TW to be ‘looking’ - was that true? Who knows. Not appropriate, ever, to ask about someone’s genitalia, unless in a medical capacity. She should have reported her concerns to the management of the pool.

The billion dollar question

None of my posts on this thread have anything to do with what a man has to do to become a trans woman. They are about the correct actions of the elderly woman suspecting and taking action against what she saw as wrongdoing. I'm not entering a discussion about the spectrum of gender identity.

I think as women in these bizarre times, we will all have to be brave like this woman and accept that we might be punished in some way. It's the only way we can protect each other from the risks associated with this madness. I hope I would do exactly the same in this situation! Screw the pool, I wouldn't want to go there again anyway.

Theres a woman in the changing room.. shes making ne uncomfortable makes the little girls sound like the arsehols.

Theres a man in the changing room.hes making us uncomfortable, tells you exactly what is going on.

I worry some people's bar is so low that there has to be some physical action that visibly takes place amongst many witnesses in order for it to be a problem when for most of us a male even going into the space designated for women amd girls has already crossed the line.

I was asking the previous poster to clarify why a male-born person would feel intimidated by using men's toilets, when women are being told that there's nothing to fear from being in toilets in the presence of male-born people.
