Please sign into CSP and look at the new iCSP discussion "Stonewall and the CSP"

A great thread beginning and agreement that stonewall are problematic and women's rights are being overlapped by male rights

Then a HUGE ESSAY by a TRA

I'd like to leave the CSP but where to go? I am planning to ask if CSP membership is a condition of my employment to see if I can leave and get insurance elsewhere. Fingers crossed.

Well that’s interesting. Clearly not everyone associated with the organisation agrees with the statement if one of them (presumably) leaked confidential memos!

Loosing respect more and more for the CSP- as this is clearly censorship, waiting for the guidance he refers to with baited breath…( no doubt there will be reams on pronouns)
‘Professional guidance on treating trans patients will be out later this year. This will explain how clinicians can respect a patient’s gender identity whilst ensuring appropriate treatment which recognises their sex assigned at birth. ‘

Good grief. Are trade unions allowed to control the speech of members?

Do they message you to tell you what the problem is with your, possibly unintentional, post?

To be honest, if reading a post causes a person distress then I'd suggest a wee holiday and/or chat with their GP - not trying to edit the world to suit.

I see that yes. No-one cares about distress, anger, fear from and bullying of gender non-believers and we are not looking to bully TRAs we are trying to protect women's rights, dignity and safety.

On the article there is one comment where it says a moderator has removed a sentence.

There is also a new comment from Rob which says, among other things, “We are committed to preventing our channels being used to share transphobic content, whether it is intended as such or not. It causes emotional distress to some members to see such comments and is inconsistent with our commitment to opposing transphobia“

I agree balance is needed and also that the statement is defamatory to us physios, especially those who don't believe that TWAW or TMAM - but who would not be unprofessional enough to let this affect how we treat a colleague or patient.

I did ask the CSP to reconsider when the Charities commission said they were looking at things.
