HOW TO PLAY

It is a bit like word association but with a twist. OP starts off with a song and singer and highlights a word.
The next player comes up with an associated word or phrase and highlights a word for the next player.

EXAMPLE

It’s a Sin, Pet Shop Boys

The next person could do this:

Murder on the Dance Floor, Sophie Ellis-Bextor

It is fine to highlight part of a word too.

I will start off

Walk This Way, Aerosmith and Run DMC

Let's Stay Together - Al Green

(Am I allowed to repeat the word?)

It's better if you can find a word (or phrase) that links with the emboldened word on some way rather than just repeats it - but it can take a while to get used to the way this game works, so you can be forgiven! 😊

Forever & Ever - Demis Roussos

Great idea @AnneKipankitoo. Fiendishly clever in fact.

Thank you but it was not my original idea. Mumsnetters from previous years started it. Unfortunately I think they have passed.

What’s the connection between the songs…?! I don’t get it. Sorry. Do the bold words have to link? They don’t all do so… 🤯

No.
The person who answers is free to choose the next word and put it in bold letters.
If you look at the first post I have put an example in. Hopefully that will help.
Don’t worry , it took me years to work it out.
I was very confused.

In the above, the connection is between the emboldened word "wall" and breezeblocks (which can be used to construct a wall). Any word - or part word - can be emboldened in the new entry - within either the song title or the artist. The two emboldened words don't have to link.
