Dance mums - Move It advice

Can answer about the tickets. But I fund move it the most over overwhelming event I had ever been today. If I was to go again I would wear some kind of ear plug.
DD, however loved it when we were looking for colleges and had the best time performing there when she was at college.

How old is your DD? I’ve been to Move It several times (dance teacher), but don’t know much about the VIP tickets. What does the extra cost give you additionally to the standard ticket and what do you want from the experience for her? Also, just a quick bit of advice- exit and go back through the main entrance at about 3pm on the first couple of days- as they are often giving away freebies and goodies at about this time of day. (at least they did the last two years). If your daughter is approaching the age for dance college make time to visit the college stands and stalls and talk to the staff it’s a great way to get an initial feel for a college (are they approachable, friendly but not pushy, standoffish etc), If colleges your dancer is interested in are showcasing on the main stage try to make a point of checking out their performance slot- I think VIP tickets have a roped off section at the front. The downside to watching the Main Syage is that there is no seating whatsoever- in fact there is pretty much zero seating inside the convention itself (apart from one of the smaller stages had seating for their performances) - and you also have to exit the main convention arena to access the toilets. Expect to feel like you do a LOT of standing / walking around with nowhere to sit inside Move It itself (there is seating in the eating areas outside in the main concourse but they get very busy and you cannot use them if you are not buying food from there) . If your daughter is keen to take classes and enjoy the atmosphere it’s a great experience though.

A lot of the dance schools and colleges will be running workshops, so it would be useful for her to do some of the ones run by colleges she is interested in. They give an insight into what their training is like and what you might expect at an audition. Tell her to remember to go up to the teacher at the end and say thank you, and how much she enjoyed it. You never know, they might be on the audition panel in future and remember her.
