Women's March London says trans voices should be elevated over women's voices

Women's march london is a fully intersectional and trans inclusive collective, as laid out in our guiding principles. We fully recognise trans women as women and sisters and welcome them to all our actions. We acknowledge that all who were assigned female at birth, including our trans brothers and some non-binary siblings share many of the same struggles and believe that the voices of trans men and AFAB non-binary people should always be heard and elevated in discussions of reproductive justice or menstrual equity.
We will not tolerate anyone who comes to our actions or our spaces with the intent to cause harm to others and believe that transphobia has no place in feminist action. Bread and Roses is an all genders action and one where we hope people of all genders and none can feel safe and welcome. If any trans sibling feels threatened or unsafe on the march we urge them to come speak to our stewards or one of the organisers and we will do our best to help.

Errr.... Linda Bellos is listed as a supporter on their website. I can't see her subscribing to the woke bullshit.

FlyingOink · 19/01/2019 01:08

So they think TWAW and TMAW too?

stumbledin · 19/01/2019 01:12

Apollo440

Didn't spot that about Linda Bellos. I wonder if she was asked.

I was too busy reading facebook comments. Sadly they are getting support.

But noticed they haven't responded to queries re affiliation to Women's March in the US now split because of accusations of anti semitism.

Yes - everybody is a woman - except actual women, who should be voiceless, quiet, and obedient follow directions!!

Why should we keep elevating others above ourselves? I bet most women who go to the march won’t have read this twaddle.

FlyingOink · 19/01/2019 01:31

Yeah including women who say they aren't women, but they have male privilege apparently.
Who writes this stuff?

Thingybob · 19/01/2019 01:37

As soon as I think we have reached peak craziness it gets even more ridiculous.

knittedjest · 19/01/2019 01:54

Should be avoiding the women's march anyway. It's an organisation rifed with antisemites.

Sadly, this movement has already fallen apart for several other reasons... sorry TRAs, you didn't get to ruin this one for us! Try harder next time!

UrsulaPandress · 19/01/2019 02:45

Menstrual equity? What be that then?

bluescreen · 19/01/2019 03:00

Go with the flow.

Not a new position. When the women’s march came about I was on the London FB group. A trans woman called me a Nazi among other things for saying people should allow Jenni Murray to have her opinion as long as she wasn’t advocating harm to anyone. Nobody there did anything about it. This person was really aggressive and abusive all over the group and completely got away with it. I’ve never had anything remotely to do with any aspect of women’s march since. It’s a pointless liberal feminist shitshow. I wouldn’t worry about the FB support, they and/or FB will be deleting any and all GC comments.

NewYearsNiamh · 19/01/2019 08:45

It would be brilliant if no women turned up.

AgnesNaismith · 19/01/2019 08:51

Isn’t Sophie Walker from the WEP gender critical?

Popchyk · 19/01/2019 09:00

You do wonder at the intelligence of some people, don't you?

Transmen are men apparently. In some way that nobody can actually define. But yet now they are still women in some way that nobody can actually define either.

But because they are trans and women and men, that means that they should be elevated above women in the women's march.

And men who claim to be women are women. That means that they should be elevated above women in the women's march.

One thing is very clear. Women always come last. But they should still turn out in large numbers purely in order to support the people who claim to have a greater struggle than women. In the women's march.

Women, know your place.

I'd rather have herpes than be involved with that misogynist organisation in any way, shape or form.

Katispancuddly · 19/01/2019 09:30

Argh
They are just trolling now.
Bergdorf is so unpleasant.

JackyHolyoake · 19/01/2019 09:34

It was just described on Sky News, in the concluding remarks of an interview, that it is a "People's March" led by women.

So, it is admitted now that it is not a women's march at all.

Hey ho!

2rebecca · 19/01/2019 09:37

Their stated aim of women getting bread and roses just sounds silly too. It's winter ffs, unless they just want to stuff themselves with Roses. That's more understandable but they could just go to the shop rather than on a march. It all sounds silly. Marching because of something going on in America and because they want bread and roses? Not sure why anyone would wander round London in the cold for that.

Elevating some voices above others smacks of Animal Farm.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 19/01/2019 09:45

All women are equal but trans women are more equal than all the others.......

LangCleg · 19/01/2019 09:46

Oh, let's have a capitalist march celebrating the commodification of self! What fun! Let's have a speaker who spouts MRA rhetoric all over Twitter and call them a feminist! What joy!

Yeah. No.
