Redundancy is when your role disappears and you get some kind of pay off. The sack is when you are fired and you get a P45 and, if you are lucky some kind of reference other than confirmation of the dates you worked there. Your behaviour seems to be leading towards the latter. Thank carefully what you wish for.

If you want redundancy, you have to tread a very fine line and you look like you are on the wrong side of it at the moment. You have to be lacklustre rather than rude, and it takes patience.

Now if I had received that reply I would chuckle to myself but also wonder if you were ok.

I knew it was time to leave my workplace when I was exiting the rest room and a manager made a sarcastic remark about the length of my break ( normal ) and I put two fingers up and walked off.
I confessed to my line manager what I’d done and his reply was
don't worry, it’s easier to get rid of a verruca than a member of staff in this place.
