How am I deluded? What do you hope is going to happen

CyranoDeBergerQuack · 08/12/2024 12:45

Interesting you immediately think that I am hoping something will happen.

ohyesido · 08/12/2024 12:51

Interesting that your first thought is to imply that you know better than me how my boss of 7 years will react to a cheeky text

OP posts:
MumMRM · 08/12/2024 13:29

But you will not be made redundant, you would be fired!

ohyesido · 08/12/2024 13:31

Nah I just won’t be marked as safe when the restructuring comes

It'll force me to do something meaningful with my life either way

Aplying for new job you might need a reference. As well you will have to let them know you've been sacked. If you're so unhappy just resign. They will not pay you redundancy as they didn't make your role redundant. In the end it will be worse. Why messing with a manager? They're just doing their job.

DreamsDoComeTrue1974 · 08/12/2024 21:46

It’s a way to get you sacked not made redundant!

KTMeetsTheRsUptown · 09/12/2024 08:46

I'd love to work with you OP, your posts have really made me laugh 😂. I hope you get your redundancy....and not the sack 🤞

Ariana12 · 12/12/2024 17:46

This sounds extremely childish TBH. If you don't have 2 years' service you aren't entitled to redundancy pay and you can also be sacked for misconduct without any unfair dismissal protection. If you have worked there for more than 2 years you would be eligible for (not entitled to) redundancy pay which is not mega bucks - check with ACAS. You can still be sacked for misconduct. I can't figure out if you're just taking the mickey with this post. But you just need to take some responsibility for yourself and get a job that you like.

ohyesido · 13/12/2024 17:46

I am duly chastised.

We had the Christmas party last night, I told him I remembered how long his hair grew in lockdown and he looked like Gargomel.

He bought me a Limoncello and told me it was a nice after dinner liqueur and I should drink it through a straw. He got the last laugh

I think this might be changing.

NewBootsWeather · 13/12/2024 18:45

Gargomel 😂

Tittat50 · 13/12/2024 23:39

OP I'm really holding onto hope that you get your redundancy payout! I can't believe the thread is still going and you're still being told off.

This thread feels like a reflection of some shitty work situations so many people are stuck with these days. It's difficult out there and many people probably feel unappreciated, overworked and underpaid in reality - which is rubbish.

Your boss sounds good fun 😄

I think this might be changing.

that's right. The Govt has announced that they're going to bring in legislation to give people day 1 rights not to be unfairly dismissed. But it will be a while. And TBF i think the employer can probably show dismissal was fair in this case. But I also think the OP is having a laugh here.

@MissMoneyFairy to feel noticed and like I exist

@ohyesido I get it. I see you 🫶🏻✌🏻

If you push it enough they could just sack you and get rid of you without having to pay a penny - good plan

I agree! The no pay and a crap reference!
