I'm imagining the OP's boss reading it open mouthed like a goldfish, and having no idea how to respond to such insubordination.

He will also have shown it to his colleague, who has been desperately suppressing fits of the giggles all afternoon, all the more so because of their colleague's Stig-like bewilderment.

I had a colleague who thought he could tell the VP of Operations to 'fuck off' and remain employed.

He was mistaken.

Some of the PPs remind me of my worst-ever boss, who furiously and correctly accused me of 'dumb insolence'. That's also a serious offence in the Armed Services, not in civvy street. So I proved his point by respectfully informing him I was sorry he felt I hadn't followed his instructions correctly, and could he explain further?

(This would've been no fun if he was just thick, but he knew what I was doing so it amused me for a while.)
