Seriously? You won’t get made redundant you will eventually get fired if you continue this (gross misconduct - abuse of company policies etc) and then they won’t have to pay you anything.

I've been told to pack it in because it's his work phone and if I want redundancy that badly I can volunteer in the new year. All said with a smile and a wink.

And we do recover debts, we take houses not cars or TVs to the poster who thinks they know my job better than me

Not one of the posters know what relationship OP has with this manager. A lot of work places have a laugh as well as doing a good job.

Some posters are acting like they are the ones receiving the text from OP and have took it personally.

It's not going to backfire on me. My boss and I have a very close professional relationship and I would not dare do this if I thought he would react badly.

He suppresses a laugh and says ffs stop it and behave yourself or I'll limit your expense account.

I never ever get personal or do it in front of others. As a senior manager at his level he normally gets formal management type bullshit so I think he quite enjoys my antics

I think you are rather deluded in thinking he 'enjoys the antics'. At the end of the day, he is your manager.
