Chatty thread whilst waiting for Chernobs 2019

I'm waiting for the Chernobs thread to start - it's my favourite one Grin. I am sure we're all horrendously busy - I'm trying to finish off DS's blanket he ordered for Christmas. But it's mostly Lobelia and I can't see at night for the joining and he's been off school sick this week. Aaaatrrggghhh. However because of that, I have almost finished joining a Kinship hug - ran out of plum for the edging so have to go to wool shop tomorrow.

Have also started my Chernobs blanket but think I've mucked up the colours so may have to do some frogging.

What are you all up to?

I'm already away Madison - I have been here since Sunday - I didn't want to rub it in when its so horrible and cold at home ! Back in the middle of February .
I popped this on another thread - I walk past this regularly - so what colour SSDK do you think this is? - just a bit dark for magenta Grin

bookbook - plum or boysenberry? Grin

Oooh fabulous book! Make sure you soak up that heat! Grin

I'd go with those too, it's maybe a touch closer to Boysenberry than Plum. Isn't it beautiful though!

I'm ready to start the border! Hope the finger is better soon Madison Can you share a picture of your blanket? Will pop one on of mine at some point...

This is it MrsJones, I only did it in double crochet as I thought I’d lose interest before February was over. The other one is the start of this year’s, it’s up to date to yesterday.

Your blanket is lovely Madison - I think you and PurpleFrog nailed it - of course its Boysenberry! :)

Is it Bougainvillea, book? Not sure where you are but when we used to go to the Canaries it was growing everywhere and that just reminded me of it.

Thanks, it's just draped over the sofa bed in the guest room at the moment.

Madison - I really like your finished temperature blanket. It is really effective. Can't remember if you are in the UK... if so were the wide dark blue bits the "Beast from the East"? Grin

Ahhh Tenerife! Perfect for some Winter warmth Grin

Well spotted PurpleFrog! And I'd planned on using Tomato for 25c and over, thinking I'd probably not need much, but when it got hotter and hotter last Summer I used Tomato for 25-27 and then added Gold into it for 28 and above.

Oooh that's lovely. I'm halfway round with my border and will then get some proper pictures of it.

I have stalled as I am waiting for a Stylecraft order to come. Sad

Last weekend I at last got round to working out what I am going to do for my Chernobyl blanket, and what colours I needed. The first company I tried didn't have one of the colours in stock so I ditched that order and went to Deramores. Sent off an order on Sunday evening, including the colours needed to finish my Candy's Hug. Deramores decided to offer 10% off Stylecraft on Monday... Sad They sent me a shipping confirmation early on Tuesday morning, but I still haven't got it Sad and Hermes still say they are waiting to receive my package. Grrr! Yes, I know I can sew in ends on my Candy's Hug, but that isn't what I want to do at the moment .

I won't be making a whole blanket for Chernobyl but will try and do some squares. Just finished the border and done the last peskies on my 1st ever blanket (Snug)

My Stylecraft order arrived on Saturday afternoon - phew! So, I managed to make good progress with both the Candy's hug and the Chernobyl blanket. I'm happy again! Smile

Is anyone planning on going to the Hugathon this year? @bookbook @Spindelina

Our dockyard tickets will still be valid so I'm really tempted especially as there's loads of stuff In Portsmouth that you can do with Tesco Clubcard points.

Is frogging a generic term for unpicking or a WH/MN term?

Is there a Hugathon this year? I missed last year as I was double booked.

I could have sworn I read about another one in Portsmouth but I can't find anything now. If it was a dream it was very vivid as I've checked the dates and everything.

@KnottyAndPistey - did I dream it?
