I'm waiting for the Chernobs thread to start - it's my favourite one Grin. I am sure we're all horrendously busy - I'm trying to finish off DS's blanket he ordered for Christmas. But it's mostly Lobelia and I can't see at night for the joining and he's been off school sick this week. Aaaatrrggghhh. However because of that, I have almost finished joining a Kinship hug - ran out of plum for the edging so have to go to wool shop tomorrow.

Have also started my Chernobs blanket but think I've mucked up the colours so may have to do some frogging.

What are you all up to?

Hi all, do you think this looks OK? Am I on the right track?

Evening all. I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas?

Okki · 30/12/2018 17:02

Hello everyone. Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. MrsJones that's a lovely heart.

TQ hope all went well on 27th.

We're in France lost in the countryside with no WiFi - at MiL's today so catching up. Also had to cancel our skiing holiday as there's no snow at all which is a bit disappointing as we've lugged all the gear over here.

I've re started my Chernobs blanket with better colours. DH bought me the Sophie's Universe pattern for Christmas but as it's in US terminology I haven't tried it yet as I'll need to really concentrate. Has anyone else done one?

No Okki, but it's certainly on my wish list!

TwitterQueen1 · 30/12/2018 22:49

No snow! what a shame. Hope you're having a good time anyway Okki

Love your heart MrsJones

I learnt a new stitch today - the crab stitch. I quite like it - once I got the hang of it. The square is actually for my CH - I have only two 6" ones left to do then it's the big construction!

Spindelina · 31/12/2018 11:15

I've done Sophie's Garden, but not the universe. I did the mandala in one colour, then squared it off in another.

here

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/12/2018 16:10

I can't comment as I can't read patterns or do anything too complex, but I'm in awe of all the stuff done for WH.

Thanks, quite pleased with the heart.

Have a good evening all and all the best for 2019.

Happy New Year to you all.

How are you doing TQ?

TwitterQueen1 · 02/01/2019 22:17

Filthy hacking cough and cold for a week here MrsJ, so I don't know whether I feel rough because of that or the tablets. Feel knackered (2 snoozes today) thrown up a couple of times... but overall, pretty good tx! I'm up again tomorrow but it should be straightforward.

My Candy's Hug is benefitting from my inactivity though - all squares done and now constructing Xmas Grin.

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/01/2019 06:35

Hope you feel better soon!

Being at the in laws over Christmas have meant a lot of squares done too Wink Grin

Okki · 05/01/2019 15:25

Hope you're feeling better TQ.

On our way back to England and have just driven through Rouen - but scary actually as Riot police everywhere and roads blocked off because of Gilets Jaune. So many things on fire too - bins etc. We ended up surrounded at one point with bins being lit in front of us. Thankfully they didn't take exception to an English car!

I've had a practise start at Sophie's Universe - colour combo not great as it's all I had with me, but I'm pleased with how it feels.

Very pretty Okki Hope you're home safe by now. That sounds tense!

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/01/2019 20:39

Lovely Okki. Your colour choices are as lovely as ever.

I've finished a whole Chernobs and I've got a dozen or so squares done (and all the ends sewn in 😇) - I'm just waiting for posting to open. Another MNer has sent me some white yarn so I'm switching to Angel Hugs once I've finished knitting for a family baby due next month.

TwitterQueen1 · 06/01/2019 16:50

Gosh Okki I'd assumed it had all died down as there hasn't been anything on the news for a little while... scary.

KnottyAndPistey · 08/01/2019 12:25

Morning chums Wine

MadisonAvenue · 08/01/2019 12:29

Okki! That must've been very nerve-wracking! I also hadn't heard anything more about the rioting so assumed it had quietened down too.

That's beautiful, and I think that the colours work really well!

MadisonAvenue · 08/01/2019 12:30

Morning K&P!

KnottyAndPistey · 09/01/2019 10:22

I read something questioning why there is no coverage of the French riots, it's like it isn't happening

Glad you are home Okki

How is everyone this fine morn?

I am VERY GRUMPY

because one of my cats, he is named Biscuits, had a run in with a fox, needed emergency vet stuff on Sunday for his leg, which is so much better now, but was due back today because he needs some broken teeth taken out under anaesthetic. So we starved hime since 9pm last night, he kept waking us up in the night to ask WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY as did his sister who unfortunately also had to be starved

So into his new cat holdall bag carrier thing. Fed his sister.

And the wee fecker Biscuits escaped from the cat carrier, (HOW??????) shot in the kitchen and ate her left overs.

So no surgery today Gin

PurpleFrog · 09/01/2019 11:01

Oh no... poor Biscuits! Sad

I hope you manage to keep him contained tonight! Have you got earplugs? Grin

MadisonAvenue · 09/01/2019 11:14

Oh no! What a shame you've all got to go through it all again! Hope all goes well when he eventually makes it to the vets.

Our furry doggy friend, Bill, gave us a sleepless night this week and we think that may have been fox related too. He simply wouldn't settle, was pacing around all night and I lost count of how many times one of us had to let him out, only to have him stand in the open doorway sniffing the air before running in and hiding. At 4am I was outside in my pyjamas, wielding a torch and checking the cars and the outside of the house just in case he'd heard something untoward happening.

And what do you think happened at 6am when my alarm went off?? He curled up on his bed and fell asleep Hmm
