Welcome to the final stage of the Chernobyl project 2017, the thread where we will see our target of 70 blankets achieved and even more, plans are already in place for delivery to the wonderful groups, and we can't wait for the children to have their beautiful blankets!

All crafting information can be found on previous threads, have a look here.... We are just so eternally grateful to everyone for every stitch and every moment of time spent on this project, we were worried we had 'bitten off more than we could chew' when we looked at the challenge of 70 blankets, or equivalent of 5600 six inch squares as Knotty worked out! But the Woolly Hugs crew never fail to amaze, thank you everyone so SO much! Thanks

There are 12 more kits out with crafters, and the final sort will be complete by next Thursday.

So nearly there Gin

Sadly Okki I believe QC would strongly object to the wearing of socks Sad It would be like the santa hat incident all over again.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/05/2017 21:52

Oh I really want to see QC in socks Sad you may not have any skin left on your hands but thems the breaks Grin

I'm still ogee-ing along. Just about to finish - at which point I will be DROWNING in peskies. At a rough calculation there will be 450+ Shock I'll post a picture when I'm done.

Our first Chernobyl blankets are off!

Thanks to everyone's love and generosity we can extend our Portsmouth collection to include the 6 children visiting the Isle of Wight this year. All girls aged 11-13 and they arrive tomorrow! When we took this pic we could see the Isle of Wight in the background 😃

Huge thanks everyone!! C2017 is turning out to be extraordinary and that is because of YOU!! xxxx

Looking at the photo on Facebook, it looks like SUPAUK. But I have no idea what that refers to!

KnottyAndPistey · 16/05/2017 20:17

It's the initials of the folk who made it. Came from a group of friends
