Welcome to the final stage of the Chernobyl project 2017, the thread where we will see our target of 70 blankets achieved and even more, plans are already in place for delivery to the wonderful groups, and we can't wait for the children to have their beautiful blankets!

All crafting information can be found on previous threads, have a look here.... We are just so eternally grateful to everyone for every stitch and every moment of time spent on this project, we were worried we had 'bitten off more than we could chew' when we looked at the challenge of 70 blankets, or equivalent of 5600 six inch squares as Knotty worked out! But the Woolly Hugs crew never fail to amaze, thank you everyone so SO much! Thanks

There are 12 more kits out with crafters, and the final sort will be complete by next Thursday.

So nearly there Gin

Morning, K and/or P!

Brew

I'm feeling it's nearly time for some more Woolly Retreat dreaming: do we need one of those sensory deprivation tanks? or more a sensory depravity dungeon?

KnottyAndPistey · 31/05/2017 10:37

P today Grin

MrsH all I want from the woolly retreat is some air conditioning and a nice guy to waft me with a palm leaf...

MadisonAvenue · 31/05/2017 19:08

I didn't realise that there were so many groups around the UK! Grin

Celebrating the start of #VolunteersWeek today with the most enormous THANK YOU to our wonderful Woolly Hugs crew, crafters and donors alike.

Every stitch, every moment, every penny given freely, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, proving one person CAN make a difference. So many children and their families feel love, support, comfort, kindness and compassion through your overwhelming generosity.

Loved and looked after. To you all who make it all possible THANK YOU!! xxx

Thanks

my square, my square,

I have found all my lovely (saggy, and slightly wonky) squares.

the last one has landed in number 100!!!!!!

Spindelina · 05/06/2017 20:04

(I'm greatly pleased that one of mine is in 100. It's the 12" purple and green stripy one near the middle, which was never going to be easy to match, but this is just a complete riot of colour which I reckon is totally appropriate for the hundredth blanket!)

bookbook · 05/06/2017 21:38

Just wonderful! I think there are more?

WitchDancer · 06/06/2017 08:44

They've posted up 101, unless it was a dream. It could have been a dream. It was likely to have been a dream

WitchDancer · 06/06/2017 08:45

It wasn't a dream.....

Okkitokkiunga · 06/06/2017 19:23

Checking back in after having to delete MN off my phone as I had no memory. Got new phone today I also posted off a load of squares for Manchester and other projects so feeling happy. DH has been moaning about the amount of crocheting I've been doing, thinking he wanted to spend an evening with his DW I happily told him all squares had gone. He says "Good, now you can do a huge blanket for us". Grin

Okkitokkiunga · 06/06/2017 19:24

Loving all these blankets still coming in.

WitchDancer · 06/06/2017 22:10
